Device Migrated

Had my first ICD placed in January and have been experiencing a lot of pain around it and feel like its mving around. Just left the doctors office and he's pretty sure the suture holding it in broke becasue its' definitely migrated and in a different place now.  I have to go in Friday and have it put back in the righ spot. (Mine is sub pectoral).

I'm assuming this wont be too different than when you go in to have a new one put in after the battery life is out of an old one.

Can anyone confirn that? And is it usually outpatient or do you spend a night in the hospital? (I forgot to ask the doc)

I haven't had one repositioned but I've had 4 replacements and one pocket reconstruction. I can't imagine that it would be any different than getting a replacement, they'll go in the same place and stitch it back where it belongs. They usually only keep us overnight for new leads, they like to confirm that they stayed in place overnight.

Thanks

Thanks, Tracy. That’s what I was thinking (and hoping for) don’t know why I’d need to stay longer for this one.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
