I'm a new member of the group and glad I found it before my current PM is replaced. The responses here have been encouraging to those of us who face issues...new and old.
I currently have a 7 year-old Sorin REPLY SR V2 that will need to be replaced in the next couple months to a PM that is MRI compliant. With a recent diagnosis of PC, and MRI is preferred in order to determine and map appropriate treatment, if any.
My doctor supports the "joint decision"...

I was scheduled to get a pacemaker on the 18th. My cardio calls today to tell me that he doesn't think we should do it the way we had originally planned. He said that by doing it that way, it could potentially cause my heart to weaken as time went on. He said he talked to my Electrophysiologist and they agree that I should have it done a different way. He has a very strong Indian accent and I did not understand everything that he had said. Iv'e been doing some research and from what I...

Hello peeps
I just had my pacemaker implanted to correct an issue with AV block.type B
I took my regular BP medicine today and am noticing that my BP is going very low, down to 100. Could it be that there was a relation between my high BP and the AV block? And now that my heart is no longer missing beats, the medicine is over-correcting?

Hi. I had my PM implanted in 2010. I have a Medtronic EnRhythm none ICD pacemaker. The last couple years I have had these really random annoying "shocks". Not like a shock from an ICD but like "I've stuck my finger in a light socket" type of shock. Sometimes the "shock" is more powerful then others but it always hurts and gives me goose pimples. I've mentioned it once or twice in my very frequent visits to both of my Cardiologists. They said it&...

Does anyone know what happens when a person with a Pacemaker has a terminal health condition such as a severe stroke, terminal cancer and vital organs shutting down? Does the Pacemaker continue to function until shut down by someone or how can they determine death has occurred with the heart still beating. I asked a couple of people and no one knows the answer. I have a friend with a serious pulmonary disease and he has a pacemaker.

When I got my pacemaker eight years ago for SSS I was put on Matoprolol ER Succinate 100mg daily along with losartan/hctz100/12.5and amlodipine besylate 5mg. These are the only meds I take. I do pretty well with the pacemaker but I am tired and constipated and not the same. I keep reading that Metoproolol is a dangerous black box drug and can causes the sypmtoms I have plus many others. I wish I had known this before I was put on this drug. Getting off it is a s...

It's been a while since I posted! I have had my pacemaker for 2.5 years and I was playing with my friend's toddler yesterday who happened to hit my pacemaker site by accident (as she is a toddler). It hurt A LOT!! I normally don't get hit in that area but my gosh, it hurt! I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? Also, does it always hurt if that area gets hit or touched hard? Thanks! :)

Hi. Having had a pacemaker for 7 years and now a CRT-D there is a question I am not sure what the answer to is. Can anyone tell me please?
When you go for your 4-5 week check post op, what is it that the techs do? Do they turn down voltages? I know they have to put some settings really high when you first get the device (I had 2 new leads too) and then after 4-5 weeks they do something to the settings but I'm not sure what. Do they turn the high ones back down?
My 5 week check...

Dear All, I have had six intrusive operations to replace my knees (2x left 1x right), right hip, spinal and a Melanoma which required an axillary dissection. I was awaiting a metal left hip replacement but my heart began to flutter and it was cancelled. I had to wait five weeks for a Cardioversion during which I have now found and been accepted for a new Superpath hip which is non-intrusive. I have had the Cardioversion which was successful with one 100j zap. Then shortly after it started to...

I was scheduled for Bi-Ventricular but they could not get third lead to desired spot. So they opted for his-bundling. Which a lot that I’ve read is a more productive route. Just wondering who has this done and your results thanks

This poor guy keeled over. So far, it appears that he did not have known cardiac problems. I am so thankful they discovered my problems before this happened to me.

Since getting my pacemaker two and a half years ago I've been experiencing dreams from which I wake up with a start and an audible cry. I'm trying to figure out if these startling dreams are related somehow to the operation of the pacemaker. They typically take one of three forms: I'm dreaming and I hear someone say my name, but it seems to come from inside my real bedroom, not from inside my dream (it's as if someone is actually there); in my dream suddenly I see someone sini...
