Hi there, I've had my pacemaker for 2 months so am new to all of this. I wondered if I would be affected going through ticket barriers if I was travelling by train or on the subway. (LONDON) Can anyone advise me please. Thanks

I do it every day. Also, no problem with airport security arches, store security barriers etc.

What those two failed to tell you was if you don't pay and jump the barrier the subway authority can shut down your pacemaker remotely...

Oh, 'The real Patch' is sooooo funny. The only caution I received was the older metal detectors they use for screening at airports and other buildings. They said to walk straight thru and not stand still in it due to the magnetic issue. I've never had a problem. The newer ones where you raise up your arms are not a problem at all because of different technology. Occasionlly you have to tell security that you have a pacemaker if they pick up on it during your scan, but most of the time no one seems to notice.

Do feel free to contact the manufacturer of your device. I have found them to be quite helpful when I have had questions and concerns.
