I had my surgery yesterday to remove my pacemaker and leads that were implanted 3/24/2017. I was one extremely rare case where I got a pacemaker I didn't need. I was taking bystolic for 7 years for heart flutters and over time , in addition to me losing 45lbs, the bystolic lowered my heart rate. My cardiologist and EP both knew I was taking Bystolic, the cardiologist had prescribed it. They should have taken me off it before the PM surgery. If they had, I never would have gotten...

-After 27 years of off and on AFIB and a Ablation that worked for three years I had a Pacemaker Installed in my left shoulder on August 5th, 2017. The past three weeks I have been suffering with extreme fatigue. Simple chores just wear me out and I must sit and rest. No energy. The prescription meds or possibe infection are suspect and being checked. My BP has been checking fairly low on a daily basis and that coule be the culprit as well. Heart rate setting is not to go below 70. I had no Fa...

Hi All,
I'm brand new to the pacemaker club - just had mine installed on Tuesday. At 38, this is all totally new to me - I only learned about my Left Bundle Branch Block in June thanks to a precautionary ECG for an anti-anxiety med I was taking to help wth sciatic nerve issues (slipped disc 3 years back, but that's a whole other story).
Fast forward to last week when I felt a mild heaviness in the centre of my chest after work, and took myself to the ER on the o...

Hi Gang,
From your experience, when did you know you had to opt for a pacemaker?
My heart rate has been declining steadily for three years now that I'm aware. I'm wondering when I should know to make the decision? My electrophysiologist has said I'm ready, and I'm resisting. I just don't want to concede I need it, I suppose. His response was telling: you'll decide when you're uncomfortable enough.
I'm an active 63 year o...

Well...I got my pacemaker on March 24, 2017. It was a big mistake. I won't go into details here again. (See previous posts) so next week it comes out and for peace of mind I am having a loop recorder put in.
I am a little nervous about my upcoming surgery but some surgery was inevitable due to my previous doctors negligence.
My question is about the loop recorder. Will I feel it under my skin like I do my pm? My pm frequently pinches me on the insid...

Recently I've been having shoulder pains within and around the area where my pacemaker sits. I was fitted last year and after some obvious pain during healing my doctor said that everything was fine. But as of the past month I've been having aches and pains within my shoulder and around the collar bone and what feels like behind the area of the device. I would like to know if anyone else had or is having issues like these and if it is just something I have to get used to, thankyou in...

Hi All,
I posted a few weeks ago that my primary care doctor had referred me to the cardiologist with a view to getting a PM. I now have my cardiology appointment next week. My 24 hr holter moniter results came through in good time as:
Bradycardia (equal to or less than 50 BPM) - 33% of the time. Lowest reading 32bpm (4.30a.m.).
My reported symptoms lined up about half the time. I also seemed to have some episodes of random tachycardia while I was just sitting - 127 BPM whic...
