A-V Node ablation

RE: A-V Node ablations ----- Is the heart able to "undo" an ablation and "heal" itself?"

BTW: From my favorite story in the Dec 2014 Men's Journal entitled "Heal Thyself" by Charles Siebert: "I read once that the heart has a sort of brain too Or at least a deep muscle memory. Transplant recipients, it is said, regularly adopt the personality traits of their donors. My cardiologist thought it quaint."

Pacing for sick sinus syndrome

Hi there I am a 34 year old woman who has recently been diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome. The condition first presented 8 years ago after a virus condition when I was doing a lot of fitness training, although I was never correctly diagnosed - I had the full heart tests including a holter but they could never "catch" the arrhythmia. Symptoms were feeling dizzy, faint, and pre-syncope every 2 weeks or so. After about a year my symptoms drastically reduced and I have just lived with it happening...

Some of the same..

I had my PM implanted 3 weeks ago today, and am feeling great..until the last 2 days. Now that things have settled down, the bruising is almost gone, the swelling is down and the incision looks great. I thought I was feeling great but started having in the past two days some of the feelings I had previously with head rushes when I stand up and some diziness. I am a very active persons who has run many marathons, lifts weights and bikes. Just curious if I should call my doctor to discuss, cou...

Weird aches etc

A year after implant I get aches around the pacemaker and also behind my left shoulder - uncomfortable rather than painful. Also very sharp stinging pain - like a sharp needle behind my left shoulder. Should I be concerned?

It's July again - You know what...

...that means!

It's Birthday month on the North American Continent. Yep, starting at the Arctic Circle & moving south.

1 July our neighbors to the nawth celebrate their birthday - Jessie alerted the World to that auspicious occasion a few days ago.

Today, 4 July, us brash cowboys to the south of the St Lawrence River & Great lakes celebrate our birthday. (Jessie, we gave up on "54 -40 or fight!" well over 100 yrs ago.) We almost speak the same language, drive t...

coping

Hi everyone I received my Medtronic pacemaker 2 months ago.I was ready for a colonoscopy but my pulse was too low at 42.So after all that prep they couldn't do the colonoscopy. My diagnosis was complete heart block. I was very surprised as I thought I was healthy.I was experiencing a little dizziness sometimes and shortness of breath when walking up big hills or stairs. I couldn't believe I needed a pacemaker! But after the cardiologist put in my pacemaker I felt so much better. I am 97% dependa...

Pacemaker next week

Hello and Happy 4th of July to my fellow USA citizens.

I am going to be the lucky recipient of a pacemaker next Wednesday, July 8. After passing out several times in the grocery store and at home, I have had the nuclear treadmill, echocardiogram, wore the monitor for 4 weeks and nothing showed until the tilt table on Thursday. In less than 10 minutes I passed out and my heart stopped for 29 seconds. They scheduled me for the pacemaker next week but have told me absolutely nothing e...

Questions

Hi everyone! I have a few questions..... 1st, I was a member on this site and for some reason had to re-register. Has anyone else had that issue? I also noticed my previous postings were gone as if they were erased (I only posted a couple of times with questions, some nervousness, and relief at how well the surgery and recovery was going, nothing scandalous lol).

The original reason I was going to post a message was to ask if others were being awakened by their pacemakers during s...

recommendation for an EP

Hi,

I've been told by my cardiologist and EP that I need an ICD implanted. I've been reading a lot on this site to get my questions answered in addition to talking with nurses about the procedure. Some comments I've read here are to make sure the doctor has lots of experience. I'm seeing Dr. Beshai at Mayo Phoenix. He's nice enough, seems to know what he's doing. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Beshai, by any chance? Or, does anyone have an EP doctor they think is great in the Ph...

2 years post CDR-T after SCA

Hubby still doing ok after almost 2 yrs now. Meds taken include 12 per day, although some are more than once a day. Amiodarone twice a day. Guess he needs it along with the cdr-t to prevent another cardiac arrest. He's 68 now. Tires easlly, had to give up work as a musician - nerve damage to hands prevents him playing piano. He 's lost 40 lbs & needs to lose more, but insulin no longer needed as he keeps his sugar under 100. A bit wobbly on the feet, but all in all, good. Has a bit of e...

Afib

Hi all,
I have not been feeling 100% since I had my pm untangled and a new lead put in, the procedure itself was no problem in fact I had a bit of a snooze during it. I have been feeling tired and short of breath at times. At my pm check last week they said I had been in afib for the last 6 weeks, at times I knew I was and at others I didn't. I know there are a lot of you out there who live with afib constantly so looking for some advice as to how I manage my life. I still go walking a...

France

Hi,

I am an English ex pat living in south west France which is where my Arrhythmia was discovered. I was wondering if there is anyone else here in a similar situation. Looking through these threads it seems everyone knows a lot about their conditions, whereas I have been given very little information. The doctors here will only speak French (although they ALL know some English) and my grip of the language is poor when it comes to medical terminology! For instance, I don't even kn...
