Weird aches etc

A year after implant I get aches around the pacemaker and also behind my left shoulder - uncomfortable rather than painful. Also very sharp stinging pain - like a sharp needle behind my left shoulder. Should I be concerned?

I'm almost two years with mine. Still get the occasional sharp edged disk in my shoulder feeling sometimes. It just depends upon what I did. Did I sleep in an unusual position last night? Did I grab a piece of wood in the woodshop the wrong way? Did I sneeze and pull a muscle?

Worked a little harder with the cut crew at the woodshop on Thursday. Friday I was sore in several places including around the PM itself. I can only attribute it to muscle soreness and having my PM pinch muscles in the area.

I can also have sensitivity because of where the leads go into the vein going into my heart. Doctor's won't agree with me, but I'll get muscle spasms because of the leads. Sometimes they cause pain too.

Remember, the PM is a foreign object in your body. Even though its mostly benign, your body still sometimes objects to having the foreign object.

If you're running a fever, chills not due to medication, coughing up something, then I'd get it checked out. Possible infection. But, based upon the short description you gave, I'd guess it's more muscle soreness.

Hope everything continues to go well for you.
