results of echo because of fast hearts seen on last remote transmission

I saw the cardilogist this morning and she gave me the results of the Echo, which i had last Thursday.  Because the last remote transmission saw a couple of time a fast heart beats of 148,159 and 148-169 for 20 minutes.

Said i have Atrial fibrillation and Atrial flutter for which i should take a blood thinner or put in the Watchman device to prevent clots.  Since i do not like to take medications nor do i want to have worry about cutting myself.  Am lean...

Creatine and BUN

Hey y'all,

Sorry no updates on my listing status yet (more information on that next week, when I have answers I will make a post).

In other heart related news:

My weekly labs (now drawn at my weekly home nurse visit to change my IV line bandages) came back with elevated BUN and creatine.  I should have asked for numbers but assumed it would be uploaded to my online records (I was incorrect on that front).  So all I know is they are elevated but not how much the...

Ejection Fraction

I have had my Biventriculator sinceMarch 15th, 2021. My new cardiologist ordered an echocardiogram a week ago, the results are still the same as before I had the pacemaker.

My ejection fraction was 20% before the pacemaker and it is still 20% three months after. Anyone had this experience as well? Anyone had ejection fraction improve and how long did it take to improve? I am starting to think this pacemaker was a mistake, or am I expecting too much too soon?

Any advise?<...

Pacer/defibrillator

I just got my pacer changed out for a combo defibrillator.  They also put me on Amiodarone.  I am so scared of the side effects.   I am 4 days on it and am so depressed and feeling like crying all the time.  I'm 59 and fear this is my life from now on.

Anyone have experience with this drug?

Thanks

JHF

Low potassium…

Tests went all good today.

However my symptoms of muscle cramps, sweating, elevated bp, pain, dyspnea, and nausea had become worse overnight.  I asked them to run a istat blood check on me while I was at the clinic.  My potassium was down to 3.0.  Since my doctor was out till tomorrow the in clinic heart failure doc just wrote me a new prescription for potassium supplements, told me to take a triple dose when I got home and follow up with my regular HF doctor.  The g...

out of breath while exercising.

I had my device installed in February.  Prior to that surgery I had been taking coreg 3.125 mg twice a day.   I was able to frequently get on our ellipical machine for 45 minutes for a comfortable session with heart rate at 120.   After the insertion of the PM, the EP doc took me off the coreg and substituted Metoprolol succinctate 50mg.

Now I have no stamina.   Walking uphill I get winded very quickly.   I am unable to use the elliptical at...

heart skips a beat.

Hello everyone. I just past my one year mark with my Medtronic azure xt. I noticed on my home BP monitor that my pulse rate skipped a beat/s. (not often thou) My recent visit to the cardioaligist gave me my answer. The doctor said it will happen occasionally and not to worry. Its the heart interacting with the pacemaker. I hope this helps anyone who experienced this also. Thank you all for the support you offer each other...........Kevin soon to be 71 with bradycardia.

High resting pulse even after Ablation for afib & crt d implant

Just wondering if it's common in heart failure to have a high resting pulse (110 ish) . If I go for a walk , say 20 minutes its seems to normalise but it isn't always appropriate to do so i.e late at night / social situations / bedtime etc. Doc has given me beta blockers/ ivabradine but no luck. Blood pressure is generally ok. The little research I've done is telling me the weak heart can't pump at rest and the high pulse is to compensate but is this a common issue and has any...

Ablation

What does this mean?

It refers to 12 lead ekg after ablation: electronic "ventricular pacemaker has replaced electronic atrial pacemaker"

Is this good or bad?

SOTALOL

I was diagnosed with AFIB about 8 years ago. The only medication that kind of worked was SOTALO, a Beta Blocker.

My Cardiologist decided to give me a cryoablation which worked. Unfortunately a while back I was diagnosed with SSS. My pauses aren't quite long enough yet for a PM. (although my cardiologist left that decision up to me) However he said that when I get the PM, he would put me back on Sotalol. I was wondering if anybody else that has a PM is on a Beta Blocker? To...

Pacing Trends

Hi, my condition is an AV Block 3rd degree, and had a Biotronik Enitra 6DR fitted 3.5 years ago, following which I had no further symptoms at all.  About 4 weeks ago I noticed during light exercise a tightness in my chest, along with light headedness.  This continued for some days, and after a visit to my doctor he suggested I have my pacemaker checked.

They checked and said the pacemaker was performing normally, but did notice that about 4-5 weeks previously th...

Milrinone?!

So for any of you who follow my posts here is an update:

Went for my right heart catheterization yesterday, upon arrival my blood pressure was 84/54 which is about where it has been hanging out over the last 4 weeks, despite going back to the lowest dose of entresto 2 weeks ago.  My heart cath revealed a Fick cardiac index of 1.5 and 1.75 by thermodiolation.  My heart pressures were all extremely low, one was nearly 0.  So....

I was admitted to start milrinone infus...

Sick Sinus Syndrome

I have recently been diagnosed with asymptamatic SSS. My longest recorded pause was 2.6 seconds.

The doctor told me that if the pauses last longer than 5+ seconds he would recommend a PM. I was wondering what time period I might be looking at? I know my SSS is going to get worse and everybody is going to be different, but is it going to take months or years?

I've been keeping track of my pauses with a great new app I have and so far I haven't exceeded 2 seconds. But I...

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
