Can anyone shed any light on this? It's making me a bit panicky. My heart feels fine but I have a fluttering and sometimes a heartbeat at the top of my abdomen and my heart misses a beat. I don't feel very well whilst it's happening. It seems to be when I'm laying back with my feet up in my recliner chair.
I keep trying to tell myself that the PM will sort out any missed beats and of course it's being recorded so it can be brought up at my first PM clinic but I am wo...
breathlessness 1 year after pacemaker fitted
I had a double bypass in 2018. due to coronary blockage. But no symptoms.
In 2023 I had a series of blackouts. No diagnosis but after 6 months a loop recorder was fitted & heart block discovered. A pacemaker was quickly fitted. I have had no complications & recovered quickly. I was very tired at first but this has improved over the last year. I had severe breatlessness before the pacemaker was fitted and this has gradually improved but I am still breatless on exertion...

Hello! I've been doing push ups through all my life but started actively doing them recently. When i last visited my doctor he told me that doing push ups and pull ups are not good idea because they can lead to pacemaker ripping off the skin or leads failure. I'm here to ask if it is safe to do like normal amount of push ups and not pushing to limit and your opinion about that. im also teenager if it matters

I am due to travel by train two days after the pacemaker implant. Is this wise or should I cancel? Any thoughts, please?
Pacemaker fitted 3 and a half months ago
Hi,
I had a pacemaker fitted 3 and a half months ago and I am still very aware of it all the time. I can feel it when I'm sitting, when I'm standing, when I go to sit down, when I go to stand up, when I'm walking around, actually all the time !!!! And it's really bugging me !!!
And sleeping is a nightmare. It just is sooooo uncomfortable. It is fitted on my right, so I can't sleep on my right side but I try to sleep on my lef...

HI - Turned 82 last month, had a dual pacemaker installed on the 17th of this month, and a 'tweak' yesterday.
Cardiologist has been having me wear a Holter Monitor annually, since 2021, when prior to a hip replacement it was observed that I had AFIB.
Previous years his response has been "Not yet".....this year it was "Now".
(For a little 'so what?' information: Almost 12 years ago to the day I was stair climbing and...

I have 2 questions about my pacemaker and afib. If they’ve already been addressed, I’m sorry for duplicating posts. If I can be directed how to narrow my search I’ll go that route and not take up any more of your time.
Here is my background in case it’s needed: No health issues, other than years ago diagnosed with bradycardia (pulse mid 40s), told it was due to exercise. Feb. 2021, had a lacunar ischemic stroke. No cause was found. S...

Looks like I am headed for a second ablation to fight the afib, That is what my EP is recommending. First one was in 2021 and had good results for a while but afib is back even on the Tykosin. Reason for advising second abaltion is becasue the Afib is intermitent. I was scheduled for a cardioversion but right before I was to go for procedure i went back into sinus rythm. The second ablation recomendation isnt really a surprise since I have heard/read to have better suc...

Just checking in as I just had my first interrogation since implant of Pacemaker #2 (Azure) in April. The report is so much more detailed than previous from my Adapta! This new report showed 29,268 rate drop episodes in 6 months (average of 155 per day). I have no idea is this is an increase since my old reports would only say >254 - my how technology has improved! Anyhow, I wondered who else has rate drop and what your numbers look like. Just out of curiosity...
Pacemaker imlantation two weeks ago
Is it 'normal' to have a feeling of apprehension after my pacemaker surgery two weeks ago. I physically feel so much better but I have an anxious feeling, which worries me, so a bit of a vicious circle. I'm trying to keep buoyant but still the 'feeling' persists.

Hello friends. I'm new here. Guessing I really am searching for some support. Pacemaker implant happened 13 days ago. Surgery was painful. I still have painful itching and soreness from the procedure. How long will this last? I used to be so vibrant and active. Am 69 and feeling like maybe I made a mistake. Any encouragement would be much appreciated.

I'm five months post CRT pacemaker. I have concerns as to how close under my skin the device sits. I can literally feel the hard edges on all sides. It's also got a higher "profile" and I have already accidentally bumped it on a hard surface and wow did that hurt!!
Had anyone's surgeon discussed how close to the outer skin the device would sit and why? What's been your experience? The only thing my surgeon told me with regard to placement, was that...

It's' been a little over a year after having an ablation procedure for Afib and having an ILR installed August 2023... now I am scheduled for a pacemaker. I had complete heart block while sleeping 4 times over the last 12 months.I don't feel it while it happens and am perfectly fine while awake. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP every night. My doctor scheduled the pacemaker surgery 3 months ago and said it was OK to wait until it would be convenient for me. N...

I had a pacemaker with dual leads fitted at the end of March this year.
Boston Scientific to cure a 2 to 1 heart block 2nd degree.
After the 6 week all clear check I started running again (advice of consultant)
I used to run and had been lifting weights fit 60 years old.
In early June I was experiencing blocking symptoms while running.
I suffered blocks all summer and eventully contacted the clinic about the symptoms.

I just got my pacemaker 2 weeks ago (10/14/2024). The day after I got my pacemaker, I had major complications. Had a minor heart attack then a stroke. They ended up doing an angiogram, and found seventy percent blockage. I am now so anxious about doing anything I'm scared of even walking down the road. I'm hoping I'll laugh at this in the future - things have got to get better - I'm not used to being sedentary.

Hello, i have had a very low heart rate for years ranging from 36-45 resting daily. I am 55 years old and do intense cardio 2-3 times Week.. I have no problem with my heart during exercise but always feel sluggish and tired through day. I currently wear a loop recorder. I have to see my heart physician next week and was wondering if anybody else with comparable symptoms or any advice? I'm worried if I get that leadless pace maker compared to the wired pacemaker with intense...

I Have a old I phone 6 that monitors my pace maker. I was wanting to upgrade my old phone to a I phone 16? The doctors office put the app in my cellular phone. Will this transfer to the new phone or will it have to be put in again at the doctors office? Has anyone that uses a i phone to monitor and transfer data to doctors office ever changed cellular phones?

I just felt the need to let you all know that I saw the private cardiologist this afternon as I was told by the hospital that apart from the PM, they had detected a leaky valve which might necessitate a major op at Papworth using a pig valve. I was devastated by this and it left me terrified for 2 weeks.
The Cardiologist gave me an ECG and various other tests and pronounced that my heart was now working PERFECTLY. He made it abundantly clear that although some people's valves leak w...

Like 45% of endurance athletes I have an atriopathy. When I lay off the gas for long enough for my sympathetic drive to decrease sufficiently during a workout (coasting downhill on a bike, stopping at a traffic light, taking the skis off to cross the road and then putting them back on) I go into 2nd degree AV block. I feel the AV dyssynchrony as being completely gassed and unable to continue until the block resolves about 10 min later. I was given two options: exercise less or get a pacer. Ea...

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
