Medtronic. Pacemaker monitored by i phone

I Have a old I phone 6 that monitors my pace maker.  I was wanting to upgrade my old phone to a I phone 16? The doctors office put the app in my cellular phone. Will this transfer to the new phone or will it have to be put in again at the doctors office? Has anyone that uses a i phone to monitor and transfer data to doctors office ever changed cellular phones?

I don't have the medtronic app, however whenever I get a new iphone or ipad, I just do a backup on the old one, log in to apple on the new one, and it seamlessly moves everything to the new device. I've never had trouble accessing my apps on the new device.

Medtronic pacemaker monitored by iPhone

JGULLEYE, I had an iPhone 7+ and upgraded to an iPhone 12 pro max.  My goodness, is iPhone 16 out already?  I am falling behind.

We are obviously not comparing like with like here, since your Medtronic pacemaker is a newer model.

My Medtronic pacemaker implanted in 2018 is not Bluetooth enabled and I have to use an external magnet type Reader to link my pacemaker to the Medtronic MyCare Link App to send transmissions to my clinic.  It is not ideal but it does the job a lot better than the old bulky cellular telephone monitor used to do.

I recall I had to get the "latest" Medtronic App downloaded/installed on my new iPhone at the time and to “pair” it again, but it was very straightforward.  You shouldn’t need to return to your doctor’s office to set the App up to work with the new iPhone 16 although you may need to go through the “pairing” process again at home.  Try it and see how easy it is to send a transmission to your clinic?  If you get into difficulty, then your clinic can pair it for you.  Enjoy your new iPhone

Like Gemita, I'm on the Medtronic MyCareLink, the older GSM Vodafone version.

Every time I have to look to see if the signal strength is good enough to complete a transaction.

I'm looking forward to getting my next device and I'm going to do my best to make sure I get the latest tech. I'm going to be very disappointed if I don't get one with easier monitoring.

If all goes well, I will probably treat myself to a new phone. I just hope this one didn't hear that.

The phone is such an indispensable item now, especially for us electronically dependent patients.

As for the original question, I can't comment.

I have a lot of data that must be held faraway plus some on a local SD card. Nearer the time, I'll look into backing up and transferring data. I'll have a look at what can be transferred using the USB cable.

If you are spending that much on new iPhone the least the seller can do is move everything over ro the new phone. Apple has made it so easy to move stuff you literally just put the 2 phones beside each other and everything just seamlessly moves across.
Takes about 5 minutes.
Easy Peasy.
