I had a Medtroniic Azure PM implanted 4 weeks ago after a 7 day Holter Monitor which showed an average heart rate of 53 bpm. I have bradycardia due to sick sinus node with periodic very low heart rate. The cardiologist set the base rate of the PM at 40bpm and his tests showed it was pacing 80% of the time while i was in hospital overnight. Since then I have been checking my heart rate and it is frequently at 40bpm. It seems that my bpm is now consistently much lower...

Ever since I've got my pacermaker in January 2021, because I had a complete heart block (my HR was usually 36-42bpm, asymptomatic). I've noticed this phenomena that every now and then after I've had a big meal, I'd notice my chest/heart pounding fast. I have a Garmin watch that can track heart rate and it shows over 100bpm. Even without Garmin, I could tell that my heart was pounding. I thought nothing of it, maybe my body was working harder to digest the food...?

A little update from my appointment yesterday. It was like information overload! He thinks it's moreso my heart than the CLS. He has thought I had IST since I started seeing him. He upped my ivabradine to 7.5 twice a day. He thinks I will end up having a sinus node ablation but is worried because I have had so many complications. He said my risk of infection is very high having a 4th surgery in 2 years and am lucky not to have had one yet. The helix on my RV lead is into my heart too much...

This is my second post on here, but I do love reading all your posts, they are so helpful.
My last post was following my first op for a PM on 5th April. I had a very uncomfortable 2 weeks, I was on Propranolol and experienced jumpy heartbeats, which prevented me from sleeping. Unfortunately, insomnia is now a continued problem for me.
I also experienced severe high Blood Pressure, 182 over74 at one point and worse, due I am sure to anxiety and lack of sleep.s...

My sister is having surgery to remove a blood clot from her heart today. She has had multiple clots, both venous and arterial. She has a few in her lungs, the main one has completely blocked off the lower portion of her lung, and it has basically died. She also had an 8cm one in her brachial artery that had to be removed in January. She's had every clotting test done, and still no answers. I've also had two blood clots that had to be removed after injuries.
Maybe I'm graspin...

Has anyone any experience of using this service in the UK?
I'm after information on what the MyCareLink monitor is capable of monitoring.
I'm particulaly interested in whether or not it records and reports ectopics.
The only time I've had any information on recorded events was AF and that was at a clinic, not via monitor. I'm guessing that the monitor would report the same.
Just thought I'd ask before calling them.

I'm heading into my 5th month since implantation for. 3rd degree HB. Due to bradycardia. My pace is running 99.7% of the time to keep my rate at 60bpm. I assume itts what it's intended for, but freak a little as to why? I exercise everyday and it always seems to be a struggle to get my HR up also.

I found this forum after looking for answers.
I had an Enitra 8 DR-T fitted 15 months ago and given an appointment for a year later to download the stored information.
Doing my own research I found that there is a home monitoring device that wasn't offered to me by my NHS hospital. I have since discovered that the device is available in some NHS Trusts and find this unacceptable but not unexpected.
Does NICE have any guidance on the use of home monitoring and...

I have gotten the results from my 2 week Bardy monitor as well as my EP's interpretation of it. He feels that the main cause of my continued symptoms is inappropriate sinus tachycardia. My average heart rate was 89 bpm ((while on a beta blocker)), consistently over 100 during daytime hours. I also had 2 episodes of fast atrial tachycardia with an average of 184 but highest of 205, but only 9 beats long. As well as "symptomatic trigeminal PVCs" and 2 episodes of "ectopic atr...

I'm new here. Just got a Medtronic Azure dual chamber PM on April 21, 2023. All went well, although I did need cardioversion during the implantation procedure due to an Afib event. Otherwise, no complications. I had a 7-day check-up yesterday in the Cardiac Device Clinic at my local medical center, and all looked good. I'll go again in 3 months.
I have the Medtronic My Care Link app installed on my iPhone, so my PM is automatically monitored on a regular basis via Bluetooth...

I found a news item in the Scottish news about the first digital pacemaker being implanted in Scotland.
The gentleman who had the pacemaker fitted was the third in the country as whole to have a digital PM.
It was in 2003.
Here's a link to the item

I found another item about a girl who had a PM fitted at a few days old. Instead of the minor op w...

... thanks to all who talked me down the initial few weeks. That was, without a doubt, the scariest time of my life, and I was feeling VERY alone - so THANK YOU to everyone who replied and helped me through this.
One of the turning points for me was about 1 and half weeks in and I did too much and I pulled my incision a bit. I realised then, and with your words, I **NEED** to take it easy and give myself the grace and time to HEAL.
So, yah - I'm 5 weeks in, and...

Hi, I recently received a home monitoring system from my cardiologist to connect to my dual-chamber Biotronik pacemaker. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I happen to wake up at 1:20 am as I can feel the rhythm of my pacemaker change. It feels abnormal, like PACs but not exactly. And it lasts for about 30 seconds to a minute. I figured it was my pacemaker getting checked because it felt similar to when I get it interrogated and it happens at the same time.
Does anyone...

I have a rare congenital heart condition and recently got my first pacemaker (right side). I have significantly distinct heart anatomy. In an emergency, it might be important for medical staff to be in communication with my ACHD team, which is located at one of the many local hospitals (I'm in a large city). Most cardiologists are not very familiar with my heart condition, and my ACHD team is specialized.
I'm ordering my first medical alert bracelet and am deciding what to put o...

Hello, I'm a professional violinist and will have my pacemaker implanted next week.
I'm very concerned about where to put it, right or left. Does it harm for playing? Can I use the bow intensively when implanted on the right side (what I preferred) or is it better left?
Thanks for the quick answer as I see my doctor tomorrow at 8 am.
