Newly implanted pacemaker
How have those who have pacemaker implants handle the PVCs that occur occasionally?
42 yrs old just had pm surgery
I had been waking up for over a year once a month w/ nausea, fearfull, anxiety and sometime loss of memory for a moment.
Last weekend I woke up feeling out of breath and cold. Happened again during a nap on Sat...I got up and had passed out..hit head on tile in kitchen.
Next day passed out while stretching doing yoga, had to be rushed to ER. Begged Doc to have me monitered overnight, they recorded a Eight second pause, 15 and a TWENTY second pause. I had a dual pacemaker next day.
moving PM
Hi everyone I go my pm one month ago and still in pain . It feels like the pm moves at time especially when I am on lieing down on my side, can anyone tell me if this is normal? And will that heavy feeling go away with time.

small sharp pain / help
Hi everyone Ive had my PM for almost 2 months and over the last couple of days Ive had a sharp pain that will come and go. It will last up to 10 min each time (sometimes less) two or three times a day. The pain is located near the outside edge of the PM toward my shoulder. I saw my Dr a couple of days ago about it, and he had me get some blood work done to make sure its not an infection (I dont think so). He didnt think it was infected either, but didnt know what the pain was from. But wan...
Is this a great site or what, asking and giving support
This site never ceases to amaze me.
I was reading through some posts and noticed Melissa1221 asking for some support on 20009-01-25 @ 14:15 and receiving it in her 'PanicAttacks" post.
Then on 2009-01-29 @ 09:17 Melissa1221 was giving support to bensonalex in the post 'Young People With PMs" 2009-01-18 @ 20:26
Way to go Melissa1221 !!! You're the woman !!!

cardiac perforation
My mom is 83. Her doc told her she needed a pacemaker for a slow heartbeat. She rec'd her pacemaker dec '08.
She told me the last thing she heard in the OR was the nurse saying the doc nicked her heart.
She stayed in the cicu for a few days. She spent a couple of more days in a reg room.
They sent her home, and she has been in and out of the hospital ever since. She has fluids build up in her chest.
She has always been healthy until this and I am wondering if anyone has ha...

I am 29 Years old. When I was 26 I went to the hospital because I was feeling very dizzy and lightheaded. I had gotten light headed before when I stand up, but always thought it was nothing. This particular day though, it felt different. While in the hospital, they did a number of tests. The next morning they said while monitering my heart rate through the night, it went from 70 beats a minute, down to 2 or so beats a minute. They said they wanted to do more tests, and left the room. When...

I am wondering how many people here have chronic conditions which cause them to pass out occasionally---and how often does it happen? For me, the prospect of collapsing in public has always been the worst part of having a heart condition. It's happened twice within the last two months, and so now I am doubly curious as to what kind of thoughts everyone else who has experienced this has. I find it pretty humiliating, despite what my family and friends tell me. So what are your immediate reactions...

I had my pacemaker implant last October for AV heart block with bundle branch block. My initial symptoms were two episodes of fainting or near fainting 10-15 minutes after my run. In fact, I was already cooled down. Initially, my cardiologist thought I had a vasovagal episode, but the 24-hour monitor and event monitor revealed the heart block. I had been training for a half marathon scheduled for this Sunday, which was okayed by my cardiologist.
Last Sunday, after a 10 mile run (a...
Going for a PET scan next Weds
I have been told to be there at 7:00am, and bring a good book because it takes 5 hours to complete.
I hope this will tell me if one area of my heart is truly necrotic or just dormant. If dormant, that makes me a bypass candidate.
Wish me luck,
Stumpy.
Is this normal?
My ICD was implanted three years ago. I felt very secure knowing it was there to help me. At first I was concerned about what I might feel if the defibrillator fired. But as time went by I became even more comfortable with the idea that I had this wonderful device to help me. About a month ago however, the defibirillator fired when I was asleep. After I got to the ER, on my doctor's instructions, the device continued to fire 23 times. I was given additional medical to help regulate my heart r...

leaving a high pay high stress career
Hello all,
I have spent the last 20 something years doing software sales and sales management, before surviving arrest and v-fib in December. I realize that my new life can't handle the stresses and strains of such a high pressure lifestyle.
Is anyone in a similar position? How are you coping with the change to your life? I am thinking about going back to school to study something totally unrelated to technology, I feel like doing something like that might be a good thing t...
I'm 22 and getting a pacemaker
I am 22 yrs old and during a recent ER visit for what I thought was appendicitis, I found out I have 3rd degree/complete/AV heart block. Drs have no idea what caused it, but they have narrowed it down to its not Lyme Disease and its not Congenital.
I started off not having symptoms, and now I have mini "episodes" of dizziness and shakiness and severe episodes of trouble breathing, shaking, dizziness, and chest pain that ends up turning into a panic attack.
The Dr's are telling me th...

three weeks after surgery, I finally went to an aerobics class (kept my left arm down ?That did feel great!1
But it still feels as if it (pacemaker is right under my collarbone) is "pushing" out..bulging...it hurts then!
also, this isn't as chronic, but i still feel very strange feelings behind my knees, and sometimes in my left elbow (nerve type irritations) Was a nerve damaged in the installation of the pc?
When can we "lift' the left arm? do regular stretches???
2 'shocks'.
Hello everyone
It's not been a good weekend.I got 'shocked' twice Saturday night.I spent the last 12 hours getting tested. The doctor could not find anything .
Now at home I'm waiting for'it' too happen again.I guess I have too stop worrying about it.
Take care everyone
