small sharp pain / help
Hi everyone Ive had my PM for almost 2 months and over the last couple of days Ive had a sharp pain that will come and go. It will last up to 10 min each time (sometimes less) two or three times a day. The pain is located near the outside edge of the PM toward my shoulder. I saw my Dr a couple of days ago about it, and he had me get some blood work done to make sure its not an infection (I dont think so). He didnt think it was infected either, but didnt know what the pain was from. But wanted to be safe than sorry. It feels like a small shock or a sharp pin, quite intense, but very local. Ive read about others on this site having pain due to a nerve irritation. Does this sound like what others have had when they had an irritated nerve? If not, anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi
This sounds like the same pain I had. My surgeon told me it was the nerves knitting back together. So a good pain (sort of LOL). Mine lasted quite a few months.
Check it with your pacemaker clinic if in any doubt. They are the specialists.

I have an ICD which is both a pacer/defib. I have no problems with mine and it has saved my life.

I still experience pain 16 months after my ICD. I think a lot of us still experience some pain/discomfort years after placement. I mean, it's a rather large foreign chunk of metal, so what should we expect.
Mine hurts off on on every 2-3 days or so, usually short lived, though.
