Fear and Depression
I’m 34 years old and was born with a congenital heart blockage. I had my first pacemaker put in when I was 16 months old. Now, don’t get me wrong, for most of my life I never really paid much attention to it. It was just a part of me and I did almost anything I ever wanted. Every now and then, I couldn’t do something like play football, but for the most part I was a normal kid. Then, when I was 27, I was told that I’d need an ICD. It wasn’t so much that they...

Good Morning,
On February 28th of this year I received my first "shock" in over two years since implant...and within one week the docs gave me all the usual tests and they were all stable...as in, my heart was performing the same as before the shock.
However...it seems since the shock, I'm having more episodes of lightheadedness...either triggered by PVC's or non-sustained VT...they come, go and when they do I kinda just grimace anticipating a shock...and ride it out.

Incomplete BiV implant
Hey all,
Had a BiV ICD put in two weeks ago but the pacer for the LV could not be placed leaving me with just a defib. Anyone have this happen? Any experience with getting the LV lead in later? Doc says they can go in through the chest and fix it to the outside of the heart. Does anyone know what they call that procedure? I'm stumped about this. Right now this thing is bulging out my chest and it is starting to ache. I hope to hear some answers.
Thanks,
George in Washing...

Any St judes employees or x employees interested in joining a lawsuit, possibly turning it into a whistle blowers, . We can prove St Judes made up patient records to cover up a faulty system. This could possibly effect over 100,000 patients and save many lives.. Not trying to insult anyone or grab some money, just hping to prevent a family from enduring the horrific family struggle of over 6 years. full story available to any who want it. kirbyknight@hotmail.com

After a long wait for my surgery the date is set for Friday at 8:30 am. Thank you to all who have answered my questions. I am anxious and ready to get this over with.
left arm feeling wierd
OK, I have always thought my ICD moves some. (Had it for 2yrs) I am now having some numbness in my left arm... from armpit, down inside of arm to my thumb. I believe my ICD has tilted and hitting nerves? I also can feel scar tissue around where the wire comes out the top and turns to right? They say as long as my arm isnt swelling, I should be fine?? Anyone else have problems?

Good Evening,
I received a call today from my Electrophysiologist offering me an opportunity to be part of a study of an anti-arrhythmic drug...Azimilide.
He said I meet the criteria for the study...primarily because I had my first CRT-D shock on Feb 28...over two years after the implant.
Anyone have experience with this drug or "studies" in general.
I'm told there'd be a 50/50 chance I'd be given the drug or a placebo.
Thanks!

magic mesh screen doors with magnets
I need to see if anyone knows this...I ordered a magic mesh screen door which close with 9 magnets,, the instructions say to consult your doctor before using the screen or putting it up to use..because of possible electromagnetic interference...I hate to bother my doctor with this question so thought someone else might be using one of these screen doors...I ordered it from a TV commercial for my patio door....If anyone has had such an experence would they let me know what they have found out..I...

cardiomyopathy
I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, LBBB, with a EF of 22%. My cardio Doc originally said that he would like to try me on meds for 6 months to see if they would increase my EF to 35% and then I wouldn't need a CRT-D installed but it remained at 22%. I was also told that I could have my CRT-D removed if my EF got up to 35% at least. I noticed some people on here have an EF of 35% or higher and still have their CRT-D installed. My question is was I misinformed about the EF% and what s...

I would like to hear from people who have a CRT-D. I have Cardiomyopathy, LBBB, and an EF around 20 for years. After the CRT did anyone experience better breathing and energy? How long was the procedure please? I was supposed to go in today for pre surgery but the doctor had to postpone. I am going crazy
Thank you
Left Bundle Branch Block
Is it really nesessary to have a crt-d if you have a left bundle branch block and a heart muscle problem..with ejection of 30%.
I have been told I will still have to take meds...so if I take meds now, why go thru with the crt-d...I have heard they sometimes make you feel worse and you begin to have all kinds of problems...So, why not just take the meds
You know you're wired when...
You can hear your heartbeat in your cell phone.
