Left Bundle Branch Block
Is it really nesessary to have a crt-d if you have a left bundle branch block and a heart muscle problem..with ejection of 30%.
I have been told I will still have to take meds...so if I take meds now, why go thru with the crt-d...I have heard they sometimes make you feel worse and you begin to have all kinds of problems...So, why not just take the meds

crt d with lbbb

Depending what the length of your left BBB is will determine how beneficial it will actually be for you. I have a crt-d and was also a physician so I can tell you that if your lbbb is >150 ms you definitely need it, if it is >130 ms it will help but not as much as if it were longer in duration. The purpose is to remodel your heart and through a lot of studies it is proven that CRT devices will help increase your EF by 5-10% in general, which will help you feel better in the long run and hopefully reduce, in time, some of your medications
You know you're wired when...
You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.

We are very lucky to have these devices.
I have a defibrillator

I have a defibrillator because of ventricular tachycardia (danger of sudden death) and I haven't felt worse since I got it (January 12th). I take 5 different pills per day (one of them I take twice a day).
When you have a heart problem, you'll have to take meds for the rest of your life. You have to cope with that. After more than 2 years, my new doctors seem to have found the perfect pills for me.
The defibrillator is there to help you, to save your life. I don't see how it can make you feel worse (if it's well programmed that is).
