Hi there! New to this site and PM/heart issues. I am a 34yo female in Southern California with SVT and Wolfe-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Went into the ER on Nov 26 for what I thought was lung issues and was quickly told it was my heart. I had a myocardial ablation scheduled for Nov 30th for the SVT but it was quickly bumped to Wednesday the 28th as concern grew at a rapid speed. The Ablation was 3 1/2 hrs long and caused more reason for concern. Tests on the 29th resulted in the decision for a...
New to this PM community
Hi everyone!
I am really new to this PM thing and hope to find some advice from this great community.
My story is quite short and started on the 3rd of November this year.
On this day I fainted the first time and had no idea why...
5 days later I already received a PM due to 3rd degree av block.
I am 33yrs old and was very active (Crossfit, mountain biking) before this heart block thing happened.
Since today I lost the trust in my body and have problems to...
Fed up
Hello all.... This sounds stupid, but I am fed up right now. I have the stupid recalled St Jude unit that my doctor would not replace until it started vibrating. Well, saturday night it vibrated, and it is probably due to a need for replacement.
It vibrated Sat night, twice on Sunday, so I thought I would wait until Monday and see if they contact me to ensure Merlin works the way it is suppose to.
Monday - no vibrations - I suspect the vibration part was turned off at...
Feeling like I need a boost
Hi there,
I’ve just discovered this site so hello everybody and hope you are all doing well !
I have had a pacemaker since the age of 12 and I am now 37 ! Looking back I think I was unfazed by the news that I had to have a pacemaker fitted and lived a very normal life. Last year however I suffered a heart attack completely out of the blue. This was caused by two blood clots in one of the main arteries entering my heart. I was hospitalised twice after this...
1 year with PM
Hello!
It's been over a year since I got my PM, following which I joined this online club. I read this site a lot and I wanted to thank everyone in this club. I've learnt a lot and have sort (& continue to seek) comfort and peace of mind from this club.

Hi
Found out this week are 20+ years of complaining of werid symptoms that it is heart related. I am in utter shock and really struggling to come to terms with it. I have been told it is really uncommon for my age group (20s)
Quite curious about how a pacemaker feels when things are fine? Do you notice it much? Also what does it feel like if it has to kick in? Is there much that having a pacemaker has stopped you doing?
Seeking some reassurance

8 weeks post op - new pain
I just passed my first 8 weeks since my PM implant. I am on Pradaxa and Metropolol. I do not take these at the same time every day, but I do manage to get them taken twice a day.
I have resumed normal activities, including my favorite exercise in a golf game (9 holes last week-plan on 18 Monday).
So today a new pain started bothering me and thought I would get some input from the group. I have a checkup Dec 4, and I will discuss it then too. But this pain is about a 6 (I hav...
Worried and scared
Don’t have a PM yet, but looks like I’m headed in that direction, still trying to wrap my head around it, no heart issues other what looks like Sick Sinus Syndrome. Any words of advice, thinking about this is really starting to affect me, symptoms are scaring the hell out of me and are making me feel terrible. I keep thinking about, my kids, 14, 15 and 18. They would be financially set but I’m having these crazy thoughts like if I’ll be around to walk my daughters...

Its like a car that you cant aford. I told them before they did this to me that if it took money to survive i could not do it. But no one listens to the patient. I have tried to find out how to get it out. My question is can i just cut the wires off it...

Local support groups?
Wondering if anyone knows of any local support groups for pacemaker patients with complications in the Lakeland/Orlando/Tampa area of FL? Therapy isn't cutting it and would rather work with people/therapists who can relate to what I'm going through.
Not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel
Background:
Began experiencing "odd" symptoms EOY 2015, slow, thunderous heartbeats, occasional almost passing out. EKG and blood tests from new primary care dr in Jan 2016. Was told nothing was wrong other than very low iron, take iron supplements. Symptoms worsened, primary care kept saying just iron related. Went to urgent care in Feb 2016 and was told I was in complete heart block and had been even in Jan (primary care missed it on EKG). Rushed over...

Still dealing with anxiety
Almost four years since my pacemaker has been implanted for a complete AV block. I work in a cardiac specialized hospital (yes I know, very lucky) and my cardiac arrest happened while I was working in a very traumatic way.
After that episod, I dealt with anxiety, panic attacks and hypervigilence. Four years later, I rationaly know that my heart is fine, even better, but I am still dealing with anxiety and fears concerning my health, especially my heart. I’m still af...

Every single day I experience Ringing in both ears, light heart burn (NEVER had that before), light chest pressure and a general feeling of feeling lightheaded. Pacemaker technician has made couple of adjustments but symptoms still happening. Very frustrating! Have Any of you ex...
10 year pacing anniversary
Wow! The site has really changed since tha last time I logged in. Ten years ago today I was rushed to hospital blue lights flashing with 3rd degree heart block. I was terrified! I was fitted with a pacemaker and joined this club shortly afterwards. I can never thank you all enough for all the support, encouragement and information you gave me. In time I stopped being anxious about pacing and am now a fit, healthy, retired - well semi retired lol, mum, nan a...

I had my first pacemaker implanted 09/25/18. Suffered from Bachycardia way too long, Im 58 years old, and have my vitals recorded twice daily for the last year now. My doctors greatly appreciate is, as I show them each appointment. I was lucky if my pulse hit 55 before surgery, usually 40s. I was having dizzy spells, especially when it hit the 30s. As it turns out, 48 hr heart monitor showed it dropping down to 23 several times during sleeping hrs. I had the surgery on a tuesday and returned...
Implanted 5 days ago - words of wisdom please
Please tell me it gets better. I’ve read many of the good posts on coping. I thought this was a simple procedure no big deal you’ll be better in 48 hours ? Trying to get out of my own head. I’ve been through worse ? My house was a total loss in the Ventura Fire in Dec 2017 - at least I still had my health- not . I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy genetic. I was without symptoms for 50 years. I’m 51. After the fire had AFib was corrected with ablation then my gradient i...
