Just seeking some advice
Have had a Metronic Dual Lead Pacemaker since October 17 for total heart block during the night. My heart stopped for over 20 seconds whilst I was asleep but restarted thank goodness. Only found a week or so afterwards when my Reveal Device was checked, holiday cancelled and pacemaker implanted. I'd been experiencing faintness for some time. I'm doing ok prefer not to have one at all but obviously no alternative.
In the early hours...

Hi all,
I just recently found out, that although new pacemakers are MRI compatible, the leads in my body are not. This has been very disappointing, since I've been dealing with horrible Vertigo for several years, and other troubling symptoms. Any hope on the horizon for an answer, to solve this?
Thanks

Geez...
okay, a lot of you all are super supportive, and there/here when I need you.
As I've explained before, I suffer from Sinus Node Pauses, for around 18 years while on active duty in the United States Army I would go through dizzy spells. Cardiologists had a hard time getting to the bottom of my underline condition, often blaming me for my complaints. Too much coffee, drinking, athletic supplements were often pointed out as my own doings...meanwhile it was my nodes...

Been managing afib/flutter for 10 years now. I can tell when I am in aflutter and can not function. I have been cardio converted over 30 times. I am being told that a pacemaker with a sinus node ablation would stop the flutter/fib. They tell me my heart would still be in flutter. If I am still in flutter and the pacemaker is controlling heart rate only, will I still feel terrible like I do now when in flutter/fib? I have asked the EP and cardiac Doctors and they seem to dance all around...

Hi all, lately ive been feeling anxiety and im not sure why. I was doing ok for a while having stopped my lexapro since 5 months ago and last 4 days ive had anxiety constantly. Im sitting at my desk and i can feel my heart palpitate. What a debilitating effect it has had on me and ive even being doing therapy with cognitive bahavoir. Its just a little unsettling and i wish i could be my normal self at some point. I know its the holidays and im sure were all busy in our lives, but i want every...

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted much on this site for sometime, but it is nice to log in and get up to date with what is happening. It has always been comforting to share experiences, with old timers, and those new to the life saving world of heart pacemaking.
I had my pacemaker fitted in 2006, for heart block, which is now permanent and I require constant pacing but it has initiated Atrial fibrilation, which is uncomfortable. A little price to pay for 15 years of life, and...

Hi All,
Putting aside my previous problems post pacemaker surgery which now seem to be mostly solved, I've a question concerning Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs).
My Electrocardiologist informs me that despite getting PVCs (which at times can be quite severe) they should not be cause for concern unless they become regular. His definition of regular being more than 100 of them per DAY. He stated that most people, even those without a pacemaker or heart problems, will h...

I ran across this series of YouTube videos that I think might be useful for the club's new members. The cover the basics of pacemakers and some of the terminology.

Hi, it's been almost a year since I had a Medtronic Azure, model W1DR01, implanted. It's pacing rate is 100% and is a duel lead. A recent ehcocardiogram showed an Ejection Factor 40-45% for the left ventricular. I'm not on any heart meds.
I have an appointment at my EP request to discuss a third lead to the left ventricular, Biventricular pacemaker. I'm forming some questions to ask the EP regarding this procedure.
They are:
1. Can a third lead be added to th...

Hi, Everyone. Received a letter Saturday that my pacemaker is part of a Class I recall by Abbott. I am having a great deal of anxiety - feel like a time bomb. Wondering if anyone else here is part of the recall and how you are feeling?
Thanks. Kristin

Hi,
I had pacemaker placement In 2020. I'm not sure how much radiation one is exposed to during this operation. Since my operation I have noticed my white, red blood cell counts, and platelets have been going down. Could this be from the radiation during this operation?

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
