Recently there have been several posts seeking advice on the safety or possible side effects of the Covid 19 vaccines and these posts certainly triggered some very strong reactions.&nbs...

Shortness of breath

Hi, I received a pacemaker in June as a result of sudden total heart block.  I developed a blood clot in my left ventricle 1 month later, and was hospitalized for 9 days before it "disappeared" after heparin and antibiotics (initially prescribed since the doctors thought I had an infection). Am on Xarelto and Atelonol (weaning off the latter).
i am trying my best to return to a normal life, but am finding that I have increasing shortness of...

Has any one had experience with these?

I recently purchased one but the ECG function is undersensing not picking up my very fast heart rate.

There doesn't seem to be an option to Calibrate it like the Apple watch has?

Adding comments/questions to older threads

While doing daily checks for spam messages, I often come across new Pacemaker Club members who have left comments/questions in older threads that may be weeks, months or even years, old.  Unfortunately, the Original Poster may never see these late comments/questions, so they often go unanswered, leaving the new member disappointed and without support.

Has anyone ever felt this funky strong vibration/pulse feeling out of nowhere?

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well.

I got my St. Jude Pacemaker June of this year due to third degree heart block and I'm a 31 year old female.

Well this past Thursday around 8:50pm I was relaxing as I usually am at this hour and I reached over on the couch where I was sitting to grab the remote. At that moment I felt this VERY strong pulse feeling towards the bottom of my throat. This is new to me. The feeling went on for about 1-2 minutes but it was really weird....

New to PM

Hi,

I'm new to PM and wanted to say Hi to everybody.

I just got my Edora 8 DR-T installed 10/21 in a local hospital.

It was not an easy impantation since they found out that my electrical conduct to the lower body is weak and keeps degenerating. That's why they tried to connect it to a specific spot which leads to the lower body.

The whole procedure including checking "voltage" to extremeties took around 3.5 hours.

My symptoms were/are brady/tac...

Was wondering if anyone from the U.S. who has regular medicare with a  stand alone drug plan.  What plan you have that covers any anticoagulant, incase i need in the future.  The plan i have now(Silver Script,Atena) does not cover any.   Does not even cover the antibiotic, i need to take because of my shoulder replacement for teeth cleaning.

PM/ICD voltages

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I know the voltages my pacemaker delivers when it is pacing. I know the voltages my ICD would deliver if I needed a shock. But what is the constant voltage being delivered during the 24/7 monitoring by our devices? This question came up last night at a gathering of device recipients at our hospital.

I am 39 yr old and had a sudden onset of heart ache since July. This followed with loss of sleep and bunch of other symptoms.

After 4 days of no sleep and feeling weak I went to ER where they diagnosed me with sinus bradycardia. I did 24 hour holter followed by a 1 week heart monitor. My resting heart rate is 49 bpm and when sleeping goes to 37. I am no athlete, regular body frame, weight of 162 lbs.

Its been 3 months and my symptoms haven't gone anywhere. additionally I feel...

Twin pacemakers!

Hi everyone,

My replacement PM has gone well. Nearly 3 weeks now. However today my husband was diagnosed with complete heart block. They are putting in a pacemaker in the morning. He always seemed to fit and well. Just had shortness of breath for a couple of weeks and more tired than usual.
It looks like we are going to be a two pacemaker house!
Prefer it to be me rather than him. Worried much.

Strange happenings shortly after going to bed

I am wondering if anyone has had anything like this.  I did ask my cardiologist several years ago and he had no answer.

I'm 80 and function very well with a low ejection fraction following a massive MI six years ago.  (No pacemaker or ICD)

This thing I am about to explain happens only occasionally as it did even before my heart attack.

Generally this happens very shortly after I have gone to sleep and I am awakened (enough to be aware) of something happeni...

Safety of MRI procedure

Hello everyone,

https://www.medtronic.com/content/dam/medtronic-com/01_crhf/surescan/uc201607767en-patient-scanning-process.pdf?bypassIM=true

I would be grateful for some reassurance now that it is my turn to have an MRI.  I see Shana has posted below on Mixed leads - contraindication for MRI, so I didn’t want to hijack her thread by posting my own concerns there.

Although I have been told by my EP and clinic that I have an MRI Compatible device/leads...

Mixed Leads - Contraindication for MRI

In discussions with the manufacturer of my 'MRI friendly' pacemaker, I learned that I have leads from two different manufacturers. As a result, my system (pm and leads) is now contraindicated for an MRI.

Anyone else have leads from two different manufacturers and no longer have access to MRI as a diagnostic tool?

Just curious,

Shana

New Here — Intro

Hello. I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself and provide some background...

My cardiac journey started with my daughter, who had been diagnosed with "epilepsy" at age 12 due to seizures.

Fast forward to her age 20, after multiple "seizures" she when to the doctor where her heart stopped.  It stopped multiple times between the doctor's office and the hospital (what I now know is called an electrical storm).  A great cardiolog...
