AV NODE ABLATION

Hi all

having my av node ablation on the 9th of November can't wait for it now living with my af is impossible, I have had two ablations now both not worked and I am getting heart rates of 180+ the new pacemaker I've had fitted is causing twitching on my left side but I will discuss that with my consultant and hopefully get it adjusted and will start feeling better after it's all been done

thanks for the advice everyone (Haz)

AV Node ablation for Atrial Fibrillation (AF)

Dear Haz, it was good to hear from you again and to know that you have your pacemaker now and will be having your AV Node ablation on the 9th.  You have thought about this for a long time so you are moving forward with confidence in the knowledge that you have carefully considered and tried all other options first.

I wish you every success and hope that the AV Node ablation will be the answer.  It will certainly prevent the fast AF from passing through your AV Node to cause difficult symptoms.  You should start to feel better very quickly.

Been there. My only advice is to make sure that there is absolutely no other option. It's forever.

That said, I had an AV ablation 2/19 and it was one of the best choices I've ever made. I felt much better be the time I got to the recovery room. For about a month it was like I was on a high.

I have had some rather insignificant issues at first, like PVC runs but it's been smooth sailing since. I've gotten some strange looks from echocardiogram techs because my blood flow is weird. On the second yearly echo the tech said that he didn't really recognize my but would never forget the heart.

This isn't advice because I'm not a doctor, don't know you, and don't know all the device of your condition but it sure worked for me.

Thanks gemita and agentx86 I know this is a big step but I've tried everything else and nothing has worked I'm having heart rates of 180 plus and feel terrible I've spoke to a lot of people that have had the av node ablation and they have all said it's fantastic and that the pacemakers are very reliable so you don't have to worrie about anything,I will post in few days to let you know how it's going

            Yours Haz

Good luck for tomorrow Haz

Hope everything goes well for you and do let us know when you are able.  Oh to start enjoying normal heart rates again and not have to fight AF should make such a difference to your quality of life.
