Hi everyone!

I'm a 32 year old mother to 4. I was perfectly healthy until March of this year. My heart suddenly didn't work right anymore and after a trip to the ER and a week long hospital stay, the Dr finally decided to insert the PM. I'm still feeling palpitations but they've tweaked the settings a few different times and adjusted my meds and nothing is fixing it. Does anyone else deal with this? Am I to expect this the rest of my life or should I continue to have it all adjusted?

Hello every one!

My story: I am 4 weeks post op. I have a dual chamber PM to treat bradycardia and pauses. I have a history of SSS, AVNRT, Paroxysmal A-fib/flutter and up to 15 beat runs of VT.

What does my Pacemaker have stored

I have a St. Judes 5820 installed three weeks ago. My BP and HR has been steady since. I am taking meds for cardiomyopathy and tomorrow I have another echo to see if its changing.

My cardio says we will check out the pacer. Not sure what that means so I need help on what to ask him about what is stored and can be read out.

Hi. Got my first PM on Aug 26th. I am not PM dependent. I have a Sorin Reply DR for SSS, Brady and VVS.

Got a call from a monitoring company (prompted by my EP) about sending me a telephone monitoring device. I have a few questions.

Do most of you use one and is it worth the cost and hassle? I live only about 6 miles from the EP office.

PM parameters--need help :)

Okay, this is mostly a foreign language to me, although I'm familiar with some of these numbers, not all. If someone could help shine some light on these numbers for me. Thanks!

TENS UNIT

I had my checkup on my Metronic Revo pacer with TENS UNIT on. There was no change in the pacer so it is ok to use it at waist or below. I feel wonderful 7 weeks after implant. I have plenty of energy, NO SYNCOPY, lower blood pressure and with Sotalol my AFib is under control. Hooray! Thank God!

Great report!

Yesterday I went to get my CRT-D checked out and all was well! Dr. had put two new wires in so I was on a 6 week disabled status.
At about the three week mark, I forgot and grabbed the shower curtain and yanked it back! OUCH!! I hurt for 3 hours thinking for sure I pulled some wires. The next day the communicator box was sending the messages to the office and I didn't get a call so I figured it was all good. Minimum heart rate

I have had my device for 3 days now. It is a Boston Scientific Advantio series. I turn 50 tomorrow. :-) Prior to installation, my resting heart rate was mid to high 40's. I am very active, enjoying workouts in the gym and cycling. My question revolves around the minimum heart rate setting from my doctor. He set it at 70. This both sounds and feels too high for me. Extreme fatigue after PM was "desensitized"

I had PM implant in Feb. 2013 (you can read about it in the "complications" section of this site) and had it moved to the other side of my chest in June. At my follow-up visit in July, the PA "desensitized" my PM because I was having palpitations which I described at the time as "rumbling" in my chest. help with pacing percentage

I've not felt well since having a dual chamber pacemaker 4 months ago. Yesterday I was told the PM is pacing at 0.2%. That seems incredibly low and I wonder of the PM is collecting data properly. It also recorded zero events and one of my problems is I believe I am still getting events.

latest check-up

Yesterday, I went in for my 3 month checkup...The 1st one after the implant ( back in March...implant was in Jan. ) showed I was in a-fib approx 28% of the time... 2nd checkup showed 2.6 %...( nice improvement ) EP says the original reading was probably that high because my heart was adjusting to the trauma of the original PM implant gone awry... Source to learn inner workings of PM?

Hi. I've had my Sorin Reply DR for about 5 weeks now (my first PM, for VVS and Bradycardia). I would like to understand all the programmable options, settings, voltages, numbers, etc.

I have a copy of the implant manual, but so far, it is like reading Greek. It's obviously meant for doctors, not patients. I'd love to understand what it says, which programmable settings make sense for me, typical voltages and ranges, etc.

Just thought it was time to post some good news. Saw the cardio this morning and he says everything is looking good, and the fact that I tend to forget I have a PM is the best indicator of all. BP good, O2 sat good, PM interrogation good, battery fine, etc. Guess I better go out and have a glass of celebration.

Feeling Pacing

I have ST.Jude CRT-D device since June 10, 2013.I am 55 year old male. Pacing better

I'm 54 and had my pacer put in on July 15, 2013. At that time, I was told I had 3rd degree heart block. The doctor told me that only 20% of the signal from my Atrium was getting to the ventricle so my heart rate was going down to the 20's at times. Everything came on quite suddenly, though there were small signs (some lightheadedness for months before).
