Yesterday, I went in for my 3 month checkup...The 1st one after the implant ( back in March...implant was in Jan. ) showed I was in a-fib approx 28% of the time... 2nd checkup showed 2.6 %...( nice improvement ) EP says the original reading was probably that high because my heart was adjusting to the trauma of the original PM implant gone awry... (long story...see my 1st post)
However, yesterday's "interrogation" showed I am experiencing a-fib only .7 %...as in POINT 7 %... EP says whatever I'm doing seems to be working...I'm soooo pleased with this progress...I have not made many lifestyle changes, but am much more aware of what I eat and put into my body. And thanks to all of you, I have such a better awareness and understanding of what is happening with my heart. I continually take the diltiazem and flecainide, along with the "rat poison" (good old Coumadin)...Fortunately, I tolerate all of these without any complications. EP says I don't need to see him now for 9 months... WOW....I count my blessings that all has worked out so well for me. Just wanted to share the good news...I also attribute my progress to the wonderful members of this club, and the caring and true concern that all of you share. I want to thank all of you for just being there...I'm proud to be a member of such a remarkable group. Hopefully, things will continue to progress and the meds will be able to keep the episodes under control...
Wishing all of you the absolute best of health...

I was astounded with the results ! ! !
I didn't expect bad news, but this is GREAT !
I just returned from an exciting visit with my old high school fishing buddy down in New Orleans...great visit & great fishing trip...
Grateful Heart...thanks for the kind words...I do try to stay positive...it's a choice...positive/negative...hmmm no brainer...
Duke...I'm warming up the song think cap...searching for a happy happy song...
Ian...man, I wish I had some secret to share, but I don't have any magic potions...
although... well, that's another story entirely...
I usually try to eat well...
I sometimes eat things that I probably should not eat...
sometimes...
I usually try to live well...
I sometimes do things I should not do...
Sometimes...
I've indulged, imbibed, partaken, savored...
Do I have any secrets? No...
However, I did reach a point where I decided that I would no longer worry about my heart...
It's strong enough to take care of itself...
of course, I'm pretty consistent with the meds...
Worry only hearts the Heart ...
choices.... worry/don't worry...hmmm no brainer...
thanks again ...
may this find you happy & healthy...

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
Great News!

Wonderin' where you've been. Just being aware of what you eat and taking your meds is a big lifestyle change as you can see.
You also have a great, positive attitude which is very important for recovery.
I'm glad to hear you are doing so well Lou.
