An updated (4 months after ops)

Hi All,
Just an updated from Indonesian.
Last Saturday I visited my EP for PM checking. Everything was going well and Rate Response feature was set OFF since my natural heart can catch up to 155bpm during stress/treadmill test.

Last month I drove my car to my hometown about 200km away to celebrate Moslem Iedul Fitri festive (aftef 1 month fasting periods). I seems impossible to be done without PM. Thank God and to all of you who support me at the beginning to join this site...

hour 8

Well I wanted to say hi to everyone here. I've been reading along for a while now. In short I developed a crazy autonomic dysfunction a year ago (labile heart rate and blood pressure) lots of episodes of passing out or near passing out with heart rates in the 30's. I did have a period of around 6 weeks where my heart rate fixed itself (after having a seizure from crazy high blood pressure) but the rates came back down. Finally sick of feeling well.....sick all the time and am currently in hour 8...

b-day list

The good thing about the recovery process is that it gives you a tiny slot of free time, which is the case here :)
Anyway, seeing that our pacemaker implant "birthdays" are just as equally important as our real birthdays (and b/c Bowlrbob's post reminded me of that [happy PM b-day by the way]), I hope to add this "PM birth date" to my previous regular b-day list. SO, if any of you would like me to add your PM implant date to the list, feel free to do so. The following pacers are on the b-...

Got The Right Suit Now

I truly hope this does not offend anyone, but to me it is funny. Maybe it is because I'm just weird, more weird than any of you have suspected. If it is offensive to any of you, I do apologize.

A man who just died is delivered to a Louisiana mortuary wearing an expensive, expertly tailored black suit. Boudreaux the mortician asks the wife how she would like the body dressed. He points out that the man does look very good in the black suit he is already wearing. The widow however, s...

rash question

Hello people...

I got a new pm 8 months ago...Along with taking out the old vdd pm...they extracted a 14 year single lead (9 french).

The new pm is a dual chamber with two leads.

Everything seems fine...although i have notice a rash on top of the sternum (center)...is this a concern? The EP said to be ware of any rash over the pm site (no rash there)...and scar is healed fine.

Your advice appreciated...Starrider

New Microwave Oven

I am experiencing a little problem with the new microwave oven I just bought. After I unpacked the oven and placed it on the counter I took the time to read the directions, set the clock and placed a cup of water in the oven and turned it on. I was standing about 18 inches from microwave. My heart started pounding, flip flopping and generally scared me half to death. I backed away from the counter and it took me minute or two to recover. I later was cleaning up the kitchen and my husband came...

Problems with uploading today

Hello fellow Pacers,
Question for anyone.... I can't seem to upload any pictures onto the Member Gallery. I go through all the steps but then the picture never shows up!.... I am growing concerned that I am not following directions correctly. (I have been accused of this before hee hee)
Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Thanks, Pacergirl ;-)

My 2nd. Birthday or anniversary.

I like to call it birthday because my pacemaker was like getting a new life. I just celebrated my 2nd birthday. I stayed at the same hotel I was at when I had my episode 2 years ago. That led to emergency surgery and my shiny new Medtronic. My wife and I had the dinner that we were going to have just before I got sick. That afternoon before dinner I had my 2 year check-up and all was basically well. My usage went up from 38% to 56% but it is only taking 3/4 volt of power to be paced the Doctor l...

Hi, everyone just lettting everyone know of my recent up date on my situation, as most of you know that I've been suffering from chest pains & thinking that it was to do with the size of my breast's and wanted to investigate about the possability of having a reduction.
Well I went to see my cardiologist this morning to discuss the situation, unfortantly he was not very helpful and just exsplained that it was not adviseable to have another operation on my breast, fare enough I excepted this...

heart hailure

I had a bi-ventricular pacer implanted on 07-09-07 also ICD. I have been pace maker dependent for almost 20 yrs. I pace upper chambers 85% and lower 100%. The implant did not go as well as they had hoped I only got one lead and the hope was that it would help pace the left ventricle in addition to monitoring the ICD. My ejection fraction remains unchanged after 3 months. The next step if I elect will be the chest leads applied directly to the heart. My ejection fraction is 20%.
Anyone out th...

Blimey!

Look at all these missed b-day announcements. This needs to be taken care of immediately.
In light of some down time due to recovery, I'm able to come online and make up some lost time...or posts. So, with that said, my apologies for these late announcements, but HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY to the following pacers!

1. *Jessie: September 5, 1941
2. *Mimi: September 8, 1948
3. *Colleen: September 8, 1960
4. *Debra (bambi): September 13, 1956

PACEMAKER REPS

I keep seeing over and over that there are reps for pacemakers that some are meeting with or talking to them and having them check their pacemakers. How do you find a rep? I would appreciate all the info I could get, seems the doctor's don't tell you these things. I've had my pacemaker for 3 weeks now. I was feeling great at first, but now I get chest pains, sob, and I'm tired. Not sleeping well either. My doctor says this isn't normal so I had a chest xray done and a 24 hour holter. I'm waiting...

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
