My 2nd. Birthday or anniversary.

I like to call it birthday because my pacemaker was like getting a new life. I just celebrated my 2nd birthday. I stayed at the same hotel I was at when I had my episode 2 years ago. That led to emergency surgery and my shiny new Medtronic. My wife and I had the dinner that we were going to have just before I got sick. That afternoon before dinner I had my 2 year check-up and all was basically well. My usage went up from 38% to 56% but it is only taking 3/4 volt of power to be paced the Doctor liked that. He said I should get 7 to 9 years more out of my pacemaker before it needs to be changed. I only had 1 dizzy spell in the last 6 months and it only lasted about 10 seconds. The doctor said the higher usage was caused by him setting my bpm to 70. I am feeling great. So it was a happy birthday. I don't have to go back in for another 6 months. The best part is that this emergency happened in Reno and I have kept this doctor so it has been a great excuse to take a few days off each 6 months for a check up and R & R. Tough place to have to go. I hope all of you in the club are getting along as well as I. I have posted a picture in the new gallery. The gallery is a great idea. It's fun to see all of you and put faces to the name. Thanks to Blake! and all who donated. Bowlrbob

Happy Happy 2nd Birthday, bowlrbob! I'm glad to hear that it was a good trip to Reno this time around. Sounds like you'll get through the terrible twos just fine. And another 7-9 on the pacer to boot! I bet your wife liked having you around for that dinner finally! Great to see you in the photo gallery! I wish you are really great 2nd year! ela-girl

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
