Anxiety

Hi everyone!

First of all, thank you all for the support on my previous post. It certainly calmed my anxiety quite a lot.

Just as a quick refresher I was diagnosed with a complete heart block at the age of 5 and had a pacemaker implanted since. I've never been in any sort of medications or any sort of irregularities. I am 20 now and thankfully progressing quite well in university and my professional life. However, I often get a lot of anxiety over my life span bein...

Swollen feet and ankles

Hi all, I had a dual lead PM fitted just over 2 weeks ago. Getting out of breath whilst walking has deffo worsened, I’ve had a few dizzy spells whilst walking, and now my feet and ankles have swollen, sometimes quite significantly. Is this cause for concern? Just the norm at first? PM was checked at the hospital last week and I was told it was working well, but Im not so sure. Any comments or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

MYCARELINK HEART MOBILE APP

This Medtronic app was mentioned on an afib forum and I would be interested in knowing if anyone on this forum uses this app to send their pacemaker checkup information by smart phone to the Doctor or has information about it?

Micra AV Next Week

Cardiologist and EP say I have Sick Sinus Syndrome although I've never fainted. I'm 71 and EP study 6 months ago didn't reveal any problems. I do have a Linq monitor. Recently my heart paused once for 4.7 seconds. It happened at 10AM, I was awake and felt nothing. Cardiologist said that once was too many times and wants me to have a pacemaker (Micra). If I had fainting episodes I'd be onboard. But I don't. Sheduled for surgery in 7 days, reluctantly.

Dual lead pacemaker replaced with CRT pacemaker

I wonder if anyone else has had the same experience as me? I would like to hear from you. In January due to a slow heartbeat (36-40) beats per minute I had a dual lead pacemaker implanted as emergency surgery. All was well until May when I collapsed at home. My pulse had risen,so I went to A and E and I was taken to Cardiology. It was discovered that the left side of my heart was out of synchronisation with the right. I now had LVSD and RWMA. I was also told I had heart failure.

I...

MRI’s w/ “SureScan MRI” Medtronic PM

Hi,

Who on here has had MRIs since PM? Was it difficult or challenging to make the appointment? How was the MRI? I'd like your feedback!
I'd also like to share what I know (so far) for others. I've had multiple MRIs of my brain & ankle, pre-pacemaker.

42yo, got PM 4/2019. I'm in the mid-Atlantic region in the USA. Have a Medtronic SureScan MRI PM, I was told casually that this meant I could still get MRIs. I...

Occasional sharp pain on PM area and discomfort on sides under armpit

Hello there, please need your input. it’s my 7th month since the incision of my PM and I still felt some heaviness on my left shoulder and today I have this sharp pain and discomfort under my left armpit on the side of my breast. Also I felt some pain when I inhale and exhale on that side of my breast occasionally . I blamed it sometimes on my sleeping position. Am not comfortable sleeping on my left shoulder but subconsciously I did it anyways. I did a somewhat lifting on groceries the...

After 4 yr: HR suddenly continues at 78 without immediate ramp down to base 60 (in sleep after motion)

I'm so pleased to have found this site again. I hope someone here can identify what I recently began seeing in my bio-data graphs of sleep metrics and brought me to looking for this site again for help.

I soon will have an appointment with my vascular cardiologist who has been unresponsive to requests for his reaction to the graphs I put into his hands--apparently because they are incidental to sleep apnea treatment. I hope that means he knows and sees the new pattern as o...

Low heart rate

I went to a GP today for a matter unrelated to my heart.
they took my vitals and my HR was 50.

i had a PM installed last October because my AV node gave up on me .

my understanding is this device is set at 60 on the low end to like 150 or so on the top.

should I be concerned I was below 60 and only at 50?

i do take a beta blocker and have for 13 years after I had bypass surgery.

pacemaker benefit

Greetings all, just joined to ask this question on my wife'f behalf.  My wife is 79 and has a heart rate ranging from mid 30's to mid 40's.  She complains constantly of being tired and of  no energy. She has a cardiologist and he determines if a patient needs a pacemaker if there are symptoms such as lighted headedness or dizziness.  My wife really never gets these symptoms.  I always accompany her to her visits and have asked the cardiologist numerou...

Lower and Upper rates

Just wondering if there is any way to tell how much your pacemaker is pacing, by checking your heart rate. I am taking my BP morning and night so I see my HR 2 X a day and it got me wondering....

My low rate is set at 60 and upper rate at 130. I've felt very well doing my regular activities. Most of the time my HR is in the 70's or 80's. Only a couple of time have I had it 69 or 68. Never anything lower. On my patient portal it says "atrial sensing and  ventri...

Rate setting

Hi

Had a new PM at a new to me hospital 4 weeks ago, one lead was turned off as it's not working and I am told I don't need a atrium lead so I have gone along with this but I am getting palpitations when I go to bed and can feel the missing beat, went back today and asked had my rate been changed and was informed my PM now kicks in at 50bpm and not 60 as its been for 23years they say its to make my heart work harder.

I can't sleep with these new beats I feel apprehensi...

What questions to ask the doctor

This is my first post here. Feeling a little overwhelmed and hoping someone can help me make sense of this PM thing. I was diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block in Dec '19 and received a Biotronic Edora PM. By Feb I was feeling much better, but still had heart palpitations. In my follow up visits the cardiologist said they were nothing to be concerned with.

By April, the palpitations started getting worse, my heart rate would jump from 70 to 115 without any activity....
