HI all,
I've had a pm for 15 years, and my current one for 6. My generator is in my abdomen, as I got it when I was a kid. For the past couple months I have had pain around where my generator is. At first I thought I had just pulled a muscle. But the pain was persistent and has steadily gotten worse, to the point it has had me in tears. The doctor said it may be nerve pain from nerve endings growing around my generator. Has anyone had something like this happen to them?...

Hello! I have just signed up for the club and I am very new to all of this. I had a pacemaker installed March 7 as my heart rate slowly went down to 29 and I ended up in the ER. Turned out that I had a 3rd degree heart block and my heart wasnt pumping the 2 pumps because of no communication. Not very technical, but the short of it. I was so ill for 2 months, dizzy, fainting, befuddled, and so tired. The pacemaker fixed everything! I am so greatful for...

Does anyone know if high voltage lines can interfere with a dual adapta pacemaker. I have done minimal research but it seems that it seems safe for folks without a device. However I cannot find any data on residency close within(50)ft of a tower for someone with a device. Love some input! thanks blesses to all

I've had my Medtronic dual chamber since June, 2013. I also have severe asthma. I've been battling a severe asthma episode for almost 9 weeks now and have totally lost my voice, am coughing hard constantly, and have some sinus issurs with it this time. My real problem started this past Thursday morning when my primary care doctor said he didn't think my maintenance medicine, Symbicort, was working anymore and wanted me to try a new medication to control my a...

Hi all..
Had my replacement PM yesterday - they used the 20 year old leads again - Yeaahh.., was home for dinner, should of been home for lunch but when I came out of the aneasthetic I had a number of very painful electric shocks in the wound site.. I call it sparking, as I have had it before about 25 years ago when the pacemakers weren't insulated as well (happened when came in range of the the big electricity towers). Anyway they gave me some morphine in recovery...

I had my pacemaker surgery on 2/27/17. I have been having left arm/ shoulder pain and pain that feels like it's in my heart. I iced pretty consistently after surgery and that helped. Now that i am becoming more active, the pain is getting worse and my left arm gets a pinched nerve feeling.
Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this while healing?
I see my surgeon 3/27 and then I supposed to be cleared for work. I'm a licensed Massage Therapist and I&...

I received a pacemaker in December 2016. It was 6 pm on a Friday evening. I almost walked out after being delayed 4 hours. I wish I had. On March 11, I went to the ER with chest pressure and difficulty breathing. I was transfered to a larger facility. Three days later I had a pacmaker revision. One of the pacemaker leads had perforated my heart and they removed 600 cc + of blood from the pericadium. I was back in the ER with breathing problems 2 days after discharge with fluid in the lungs. T...

My wife had a pacemaker/defribulator installed 18 months ago. She had an incident while she was sleeping 5feet from the Merlin. The defribulator went off and supposedly saved her. But there was a burn mark on the furniture under the Merlin. Any body have the same problem. I think the Merlin had an electrical problem and killed my wife and the defribulator went off and saved her. Any body have similar incident?

Hey all,
I posted about a month ago to see if anyone could help me figure out my symptoms and am posting again because I'm still in pain. I started to have slight discomfort around my pacemaker site around 1.5months ago (I've had this battery since 2014) and went to my cardiologist. They gave me some pain meds and sent me on my way. 2 weeks later I left for study abroad in Santiago, Chile and I've been dealing with mild pain here and there when I get on a public...

Hi : had my pacer replaced on Jan 3 of 2017 all seemed greats, no pain at all no soreness even. Then on Mar 11 I started noticing some mild soreness, the next day much worse and swelling/ inflammation all around pacer. The next day even worse hurt to move left arm almost any way. Not serious pain but enough to say don't do that. Monday swelling worse and more inflammation. Called the doctor that did the replacement and got an appt. for 2 hours later! Great! Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar experiences to mine. A couple of day's ago I started experiencing a tingling prickly sensation down my left breast and under the left arm, it is not painful at all more weird and I would be grateful if other folks with a pacemaker have experienced similar symptoms. My pacemaker was fitted Sept 2017.

I had a pacemaker installed 13 days ago. During the procedure I lost a fair amount of blood and ended up with a large hematoma. I’m getting better and the swelling and discoloration is going away. However, 3 or 4 days after the procedure I started having black bowl movements which are still continuing.
I suspect they are caused by the body removing the lost blood but I’m not sure. I haven’t taken any...

I had a pacemaker installed in my 30s for what was called "Sick Sinus Syndrome". My symptoms were light-headedness, my heart occassionally thumping around out-of-beat when doing nothing, and dizzy-spells. Sfter a helluva long running around from doctor to doctor, I was finally given a 24hr heart monitor to wear -- 24 hours later they rushed me into surgery and that was that.
It was explained to me that I needed it because there was a long "pass" or "pause&q...

I had biotronik epyra with CLS fitted last July for Sick Sinus Syndrome.
It's been fantastic up until the last couple of weeks when I started with palpitations and random tachycardias (between 130-140bpm). Episodes lasting anything between 2-15mins with associated sweating and lightheadedness. Episodes brought on by as little as standing up or after eating!
Pace check clinic and technician thinks it's the CLS function causing the issues. They've switched it...

A package of potatoes
As I was unloading my items on the conveyor belt to check out,
a drunk standing behind me watched as I placed the items in front of the cashier.
While the cashier was ringing up the purchases, the drunk calml...

Hello,
I just had my second pacemaker implanted in the last 4 years, the first one was 2013 and one of the leads then had popped out so they had to go in re-do it. This time they had to go in fix the leads the other Dr out on because it was causing some issues with being too long and causing it to be next to a valve causing permanent damage (LONG story) I have had this thumping off and on again now granted I have SVt and some PVC's still but this is different..anyo...

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
