I've had my Medtronic dual chamber since June, 2013. I also have severe asthma. I've been battling a severe asthma episode for almost 9 weeks now and have totally lost my voice, am coughing hard constantly, and have some sinus issurs with it this time. My real problem started this past Thursday morning when my primary care doctor said he didn't think my maintenance medicine, Symbicort, was working anymore and wanted me to try a new medication to control my asthma. I inhaled this new med, Stiolto, on Thursday morning. Within minutes, my heart was racing, 240 BPM. It took hours to calm it down to 100. But now everytime I even stand up, my heart takes off and I have to sit or lay down to get it back to a decent heartbeat rate. I called my doctor Thursday, told him what was up and he told me to immediately stop the Stiolto. Then I looked at the papers that came with the samples of Stiolto he gave me. It said not to give to asthmatics, for COPD patients only. Could this medication still be a problem for me or is something else at play? And right now I am also having pain where the leads are located. Have a call in to cardiologist, but he's out of town. Don't know if anyone can tell me they have had anything similar, or can give me any advice, but thought I'd post it and see...

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
Stiolto

The drug Stiolto is a combination drug ( tiotropium, an anticholinergic and. olodaterol, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist ). The effect is not likely to last over 24 hours.
I expect there is a chance the drug may have induced a heart arrhythmia. I think you should have an fairly urgent ECG if you are still having problems.
A symptom of anxiety can be palpitations. Clearly, the use of this drug has been a distressing experience.
