I have had my pacemaker for 8 years. For the past month I have had pain in my neck and left arm/shoulder. My pacemaker seems to have moved into the left side of my chest where my collar bone meets my shoulder. When I am laying down the pacemaker seems to be hitting my collar bone. Is it possible the pacemaker has moved? Also, last time I had my pacemaker checked it said the battery had about 8 months left. Is the 8 month estimate accurate? I have heard that the battery can go from 8 months batte...

Have just got home from another stay in hospital as my heart rate kept going up and getting arrhythmias. It is early days (done 16/2) but it was agreed that things were not right. Lots of tweaking but still not right, back in on Monday when head technician is in. Another ablation was mentioned and I was interested if anyone has had to have the same thing done and what their out come was. So desperate to feel better.
Totally agree with comments in recent messages re. standardisation of follo...

My wife has a pacemaker, which is in theory is due to complete av node block
I say in theory as nearly a year later and another emergency room visit, we were told, something different, maybe not complete block, just weak signal. And sometimes pacemaker picks up a signal and says it does not need to pace. They reset pacemaker to beat faster, 70 bps vs 60 pbs
we are told complete block, How would pacemaker get an override? And then let the pace drop?
No...

I have had a pacemaker for just under one year and so far my experience of it has been excellent. It was set at 70 beats per minute. Recently, however, at rest my heart started beating at 110 per minute.I notified the hospital and when the ambulance came to take me in the ECG confirmed that it was the pacemaker that was doing this.
At the hospital the nurse in charge of the pacing unit told the doctor in charge of my case that this was normal and would be up to 130 bpm. I returned hom...

Thank you everyone. Reassuring and very helpful advice. The hospital had two ECG's recording me at 110 and 118 bpm.
This evening I had twenty second of very strong pulses in my left shoulder(Could feel them with my fingertips). Then everything returned to normal. Pulse 60 bpm. Clearer headed though still tired and weak. A good nights sleep should help that.
I do not have a clue what happened but relieved that I am feeling better.
Once again my very real gratitude...

I have had a Medtronic defibrillator installed in November 2014. On Monday Feb 16th, 2015, my left arm swelled up considerably from the shoulder all the way to the hand . The arm was a reddish colour, with the hand turning almost blue.
Saw my GP, who ran blood tests for infection, ultra sound for blood clots, CT scan for blood clots. All turning up negative. However, neither the ultrasound nor the CT scan could get a view behind the defibrillator.
Any advice on what to do next ?

I had my PM replaced about a month ago. Had the old one 8 years and battery finally gave it up. I got the new medtronic surescan model. The first week after surgery i felt very good, but since then i have become tired, nauseated, and dizzy when i stand up. Has anyone had these problems after getting a new PM? I dont feel near as good as i did with the old one.
Thanks for any info.

I am paced 100% of the time at 70 bpm in lower chamber per an AV Node ablation and sometimes I have problems with PAC and PVC. Apparently the pacemaker I am using (pm 2210) is recognizing these as heart beats and is causing my pulse to drop down into the 30's. Anyone have these issues?

Hey guys. I am new here. I received my first pacemaker at 14 years and my second in 2010. So I have had this one for 4 years now. I havent had many complications with it and I hardly use it because it is set for when my heart rate is 30 bpm. The last two days I have felt super weak and some sort of strain (for lack of a better descriptive word) near where my implant is. However, I haven't done anyting to strain it. Any advice? I am sending in a phone check but I don't know the seriousness...

I'm 70, and just under four months with a Medtronic Pacemaker. I''m also into my second year with a Medtronic Mechanical Mitral Valve in my heart. Other than a racing heart and a lot of anxiety, I've been problem free until the wee hours of this morning--when I experienced several short, sharp "needle-like" stabbing pains in or near my heart. After several minutes, I had another such episode.
I also experienced a quick elevation in my anxiety level as a result. After 15 or 20 mi...

Current HR 30 and regular, B/P low. Anyone know what to expect? I have been expecting SOB as well as MI sx's, 90 year old is dizzy when sitting or standing. What do you think?

I had annual pacemaker check the other day and asked could my pacemaker be checked out as there appeared to be swelling around it. I was concerned because we are booked on a long haul flight on 10 February to NZ. The doc we saw wanted the specialist who had done original pacemaker op to see it .we had to return to hosp the following day prepared for an op to resite the pacemaker. However the specialist decided not to operate he thinks it just a build up of fluid that is not at the moment infec...
