Travis help

Thank you everyone. Reassuring and very helpful advice. The hospital had two ECG's recording me at 110 and 118 bpm.

This evening I had twenty second of very strong pulses in my left shoulder(Could feel them with my fingertips). Then everything returned to normal. Pulse 60 bpm. Clearer headed though still tired and weak. A good nights sleep should help that.

I do not have a clue what happened but relieved that I am feeling better.

Once again my very real gratitude and thanks to all of you for your kindness in replying in answer to my problem.

I'd still go back and ask

Having been in the UK last year I learned first hand about the Brits not wanting to make a scene, but I'd still go back and ask 1) why did this happen, and 2) what should you do differently the next time.

I had afib with RVR and went from 60BPM to 140BPM and know how uncomfortable that is. I imagine my heart rate goes up to the 110 plus when exercising with the dogs, but it returns to normal after I stop the activity. Sitting there for days with a heart rate above 100 has to be uncomfortable.

Maybe they don't have a reason why but I have a sequence of events to go through if my heart rate goes up to 140 again. That's before I call the ambulance. It gives me a little measure of control and helps calm the panic.

Maybe they won't have a solution for you, but I'd still ask. It's really hard to keep a stiff upper lip when you're gasping for air. Hope they give you a procedure to go through to give yourself help.

My wife totally agrees with you. She's French. I'm Brit.

My stiff upper lip melted and thanks to you I got some backbone.

My doctor phoned the cardio. Betablockers have slowed my heart to normal (already feeling much better) and I go to the pacing clinic tomorrow to have the pacemaker checked out.

I am hovering on thanking you a second time but after your comments daren't! Oh go on what the hell. Thanks :0)
