I had my 3rd dual chamber pacemaker placed in January along with a lead revision because my ventricular lead was broken. Immediately after discharge I started feeling electrical impulses approximately 2 inches from my sternum. The nurse practitioner traced it to my new lead. She turned the voltage down from 3.5 volts to 2 volts and she told me she would turn me down more later, that I needed to form scar tissue so hopefully I wouldn't feel it. "See if I can tolerate it." Well the electrical...

Hi
I had my ATP MRI compatible pacemaker fitted on the 12th February. My pacemaker is set at 60 but my pulse keeps dropping to 55/56. I have tachycardia episodes as well bradycardia episodes and I understand that tachycardia part has not yet been connected.
Any help or advise would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Oli

I had a PM installed a little over a week ago to handle Mobitz Type II block. I find out afterwards I also am subject to PVC and PAC - I am told a PM does not deal with them. Now I think the missed/skipped beats may have been due to PVCs?
Yesterday I had an "episode" - feel light headed, about to faint (only happened once), the HR drops significantly when cycling, etc. I stop to recover and continue on.
Supposedly (according to the doctors) these episodes are caused by a Mo...

Has anyone had a dobutomine stress test after a P/M fitted with AV nodal ablation. The top parameter is 120. Has anyone had one of this stress tests done after their P/M was fitted.. Also experiencing feeling like my heart is racing a lot more than the 120 BPM set by the P/M I'm a little worried about the stress test my cardiologist wants me to have. Is there anyway the heart can beat faster or go slower than the parameters set by the P/M technician

Thank you all for your comments. The magneto on the tractor I was using is right at my feet so it is close. It may be possible that it caused the problem or the bouncing is very probable. I've been checked out (stress-echo tests etc) so... We'll see. Everything checks out. I'll be finishing the field with a diesel tractor and still bouncing but with no magneto and we'll see if the same thing happens. Thanks again for your comments.

Just for anyone's information: I recently had a pacemaker implanted (Oct '15) and had not driven my 1951 John Deere tractor which I use for light duty work since I restored it a few years ago. I spent all morning this morning harrowing one of my hay fields. I felt some mild pain in my chest which I dismissed as muscle pain since it's a rough ride and I have to turn around a lot while driving to watch the harrow.
When I came in for lunch I felt a very irregular heartbeat and felt light he...

Hello, this is my first pacemaker. I have had it in for six months. It took me a while to get over the surgery (three months) with weakness, tiredness and could hardly walk. I was very high functioning before the surgery with seniors exercises four times a week, power walking, and lots of activity etc.
Now since pacemaker insertion I am having trouble walking long distances such as a couple of miles. When I over-do working around the house, walking too far etc my pacemaker throbs, is s...

It has been nearly 3 months since I had my pm installed. I noticed when I or someone brushes up against my pacemaker I get this sudden slight discomfort in my heart area. It is hard to describe this feeling and only last a few seconds. I also notice this when ever I sleep on the side of my pacemaker. If someone knows what this might be I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Greg

I have had my PM for about 10 years, but it's been moved 2 times, left to right side of chest -then back - right to left, due to Breast cancer. Shortly after my 2nd relocation, it was removed and replaced (along with the lead (wires) in my heart) with a MRI compatible PM. However shortly after that surgery I was involved in a car accident and my cardiologist called Medtronic and they recommended I NOT have the MRI as the new PM was having issues when patient went under the MRI machine.

I had a blackout on October 28th 2015, my 23rd birthday and the worst birthday ever!! I have only ever fainted twice in my entire life. Once two years ago when they discovered I had an irregular ECG and the second on my birthday. Other than on these two occasions I felt perfectly fine and had no health problems what so ever, growing up I had a good immune system too. Following my second blackout that I've ever had I was admitted to hospital due to having a very low heart rate and low Bp.. Littl...

I had a pacemaker implant summer 2015 (with adjustment in October 2015), including a defibulator and a synchronizer. The last 2, 3 months I noticed my blood pressure on the rise. I have been taking lisinopril to regulate my BP for several years, but now it doesn't seem effective. The upper number bounces around 160-200, and the lower number is mid 90's. Any suggestions or explanations?

Hello All, I was admitted to the hospital in February 2015 with v-tach. After all the testing, no cause has been determined. I had a Boston Scientific ICD placed and I take 75 mg. of metoprolol per day. Since around April I started getting shortness of breath on mild exertion. It has since gotten much worse, it can happen with no exertion. After many more tests, the doctors can see that my oxygen sat is tanking, but again no cause has been found. I was wondering if anyone in the community...

Has anyone worn a device that truly limits arm movement so the elbow won't go above the shoulder? To be clear, a sling does not limit movement of the elbow above the shoulder. I made a device that hooks to my belt and works pretty well. Has anybody done a similar thing? If such a device were available on the market, would you buy it and use it to avoid lead displacement?

The reason I found out I needed a pacemaker was I was very tired all the time, and short of breath if I did anything above sitting at computer, also lots of dizzy spells. I had a pacemaker surgery due to slow heart beats of 41 a minute and heart stopped beating for 3.7 seconds. This was 12/16/2015 and the pacemaker protrudes and all over aching, and frequent sharp pains in chest. I have a friend that has just had one inserted in Aug and you cannot see or feel hers and she is having no pro...

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
