CRT-D SHOCKS - Support needed please

Hello Fellow members,

I need your sagely device. My dad is 70 yrs old, we installed Medtronic CRT-D 2 years ago. But his EF is not improving. The last time when he did the echo it showed 20%.The cardiologist is not changing any medicines. Last week he had 4 consecutive heavy shocks so we rushed him to the hospital , he was there for few days and got discharged yesterday and yesterday night he noticed a mild shock.

My question to u guys
.1 How can i support my dad, what should i do?
2. Are there anyone in the same boat and did something different which improved their EF
3. Does the shocks tell that his condition is getting worse or its a corrective measure?

Appreciate your feedback. PLease , i am so distraught without knowing what to do and how to support him.

EF

CRT can help EF because it forces the left and right ventricles into sync. However, it doesn't work for everyone because all it can do is send the signal to beat, it can't make the heart muscle contract. Unfortunately sometimes the best we can hope for is to manage the problem, not fix it.

The shock means his heart was in a dangerous, likely life threatening, rhythm. It may have saved his life, so it may not be improving EF or helping him feel better, but it's doing an important job.
