I have not been here in a long while.First was my wife was here with several complications with AFib and finally an AV block and Pacemaker. We both have Medtronic Pacermakers, mine for low heart rate.
in May and June I became dizzy on golf course and pretty much 'out of it' with my agressive 84 year old life style. So cardio did treadmill and said I have SVT and put me on Metropolol 50 er. Its been wonderful with now playing a full 18 holes and no dizzyeness.

Hello group. My name is Matt and I am a new arrival here. My wife had an ICD implanted in August 2015 following unsuccessful EP studies and a subsequent out-of-hospital cardiac arrest which I ressucitated her from (and implanted again in September 2015 and again in May 2016 because the first two procedures had been messed up). The second procedure left my wife in life-long chronic pain.
Arrhythmia-wise, she is now very stable (touch wood) but the complications from her...

Since a few months I have been experiencing diaphragm pacing. It's like I have the hiccups but without the sound. They lowered the amplitude a few times. The first few weeks it seems to help, but than the diaphragm pacing comes back again. It mostly happends when I lay down on my right side (on the sofa or at night in bed; it wakes me up) or after I have eaten something. You can even see it from the outside;

Hi all,
I had my 5th pacemaker fitted about a month and a half ago and ever since have been having an EXTREMELY hard sleeping. I had the surgery bc my pocket was loose and the old PM was slightly moving, causing irritation and inflammation. Now that is all gone and the new PM has been placed under my pectoral. Given that I've had this surgery several times and know what to expect, the having pain laying down (side, back, anything) is concerning. I've heard of...

I'm searching for a law firm who handles medical device and medical malpractice specifically with Medtronic Pacemakers. Does anyone have any referrals?

I had a full heart block in Nov 2016. I had my pacemaker fitted and was informed that I would essentially be back to normal. I am 48 I have an active job and used to exercise regularly and play sport.
Since my implantation I have been constantly tired and seem to be getting worse. My knee and elbow joints ache and any kind of exertion leaves me exhausted.
My cardiologist is considering implanting a 3 lead pacemaker as she's states this should assist m...

Thank you to those who responded to my posted concerns of having additional AFib events after getting my pacemaker. I saw MY cardiologist on Friday for the first time since getting the PM. He said the episodes (had another one on Saturday) are due to my heart racing not my AFib. The meds to slow my heart were not working and my PM had been left with just factory settings. He also felt that the reason I was still in so much pain was because the device was placed far too hi...

It's been 8 weeks since pacemaker was inserted. Last week my knee joints and lower legs began to ache and tingle off and on. Has anyone had issues with legs after surgery? I took extra CoQ and vitamin D. It seemed to help my joints a little but my legs from the knee down to my ankles still ache and tingle off and on.

I am completely new to the world of pacemakers as mine was implanted last Friday by a Dr. I never met before and it was deemed immediately necessary by another cardiologist filling in for mine who was out of town at the time. I was wearing a heart monitor which picked up events showing my heart was "pausing" for periods of 4.7- 6 seconds multiple times in a period of 3 hours and In other minutes of the same episode beating between 250-300 times a minute. On Tuesday the st...

Hey there! I'm new to the pacemaker club and I hate it. I had my pacemaker put in on 4/24/17 after I went into cardiac arrest twice from sudden onset sick sinus syndrome. I'm a 23 year old female and they placed my pacemaker very far over on my left chest area. It's so far over that it sticks out under my armpit. It's extremely uncomfortable and even painful at times even now 3 months later. I still have to sleep with my left arm resting on a pillow and I can no longer lay on...

I had my pacemaker placed almost 3 months ago. I had pleurisy soon as I got home from hospital. Also have had tingling in left arm since. About 6 weeks after placement I began having severe numbness and tightness in my left jaw and cheek and neck. My left cheek is puffy and I am now hoarse all the time. Neither my primary care nor my cardiologist will say what it is. They sent me to EAR NOSE THROAT and he did not know either. I have been to ER twice and had ultrasound and CT and CTA scan--non...

Hello Everyone,
My wife undergone pacemaker surgery last year on April 2016. She has dual chamber pacemaker. She still complain left arm pain, stiffness, she feels as if the whole left part of the body(from the tip of left arm till the foot) is injured when we talked about this to our pacemaker surgeon/doctor he says nothing to be worried, but my wife says such uneasyness was never there prior to surgery till a few months she was insisting for disassembling the permanent pacemaker...

I had pacemaker surgery about 3 months ago and developed a sort of blister on the end of the scar about a month ago. My PCP saw it about 2 weeks ago and said it was just damaged and not infected. My cardiologist saw it last week and said it would pop on it's own and to keep it dry. It did pop but I forgot to cover it once and it stung really bad when it got wet. I have a prescription for mupirocin which I've been applying but it's leaking a little from the small hole and is very i...

Hi just wondering if anyone has had so many complications following surgery. Went in for a simple box change. When in theatre they tried to change vt lead as running at a high threshold. This was unsuccessful so abandoned. 5 days later developed a pneumothorax, treated with chest drain. Then got dizzy spells, pacemaker check said no problems. GP treated me for silent migraines. Passed out twice eventually diagnosed with failure to capture. New vt lead inserted, which incidentally was not a pr...

Hi. I havent posted in awhile but have a few questions in hope toget a little feedback? I had a 2 lead pacemaker implanted in november 2016 for sss bradicardia and a-fib. I have my 6 month check up coming in late august of this year. My symptoms seem to be coming back like dizziness, confusion, lack of energy. My pacemaker seems to really get set off, expecially the lower lead a lot when I bend over, like to take the clothes out of the washer... Is this a b...

Has anyone ever had a cortisone injection through the back of your shoulder for frozen shoulder? If so, how painful was it. I am guessing a 10. I can't get it through the front because of my pacemaker placement. Thank you

Hi-in a couple of weeks I go back to my new EP and find out if the PM stays or goes. If the pm hasn't paced me in the last month both my EP and cardiologist reccommended extracting it. (If it has to stay then I need surgery anyway as one of my leads isn't in the right place) it seems that my low heart rate was due to the bystolic I took for 7 years. Once I came off that, my heart rate is now in the 70's and I am not being paced at all. What kind of questions should I ask at m...
