Pacemaker post surgery issues

I had my pacemaker placed almost 3 months ago. I had pleurisy soon as I got home from hospital. Also have had tingling in left arm since. About 6 weeks after placement I began having severe numbness and tightness in my left jaw and cheek and neck. My left cheek is puffy and I am now hoarse all the time. Neither my primary care nor my cardiologist will say what it is. They sent me to EAR NOSE THROAT and he did not know either. I have been to ER twice and had ultrasound and CT and CTA scan--none of which showed anything. I convinced my primary care to get me in with a neurologist as I am wondering if I have nerve damage. My appt is next week. Anyone else have these symptoms? I am very frustrated. I cannot imagine I am the only one

After I had surgery to fix a broken wrist, and the cast came off, I had symptoms similar to yours.

Every doctor I showed my hand to, 4 or 5 in all, including the orthopedist who did the surgery was baffled, until I went to a Doctor of Osteopathy. (DO) He took one look and said, "You have a pinched nerve."

I'm not a doctor and wouldn't attempt to diagnose you, but you might want to look up symptoms of pinched nerves yourself. To diagnose it a doctor will have to order a nerve conduction study.

We have to learn to advocate for ourselves. To go back, or go to someone else until we get the attention we need. Something is clearly wrong.

Good luck. Let us know how you get along.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
