I had my pacemaker placed about a month ago, I had the implant done due to Uncontrolled AFib , however , I seem to feel worse now than before the pacemaker. I completely understand the recovery period and that things will take a while to feel normal, but , I feel worse as time goes by and my symptoms are getting worse! I have shortness of breath and seem to have a slight cough,my heart rate increases on its own and wakes me up at night, feeling tense all over and can't seem to be abl...

Hi everyone.
On Dec. 5, 2019, I had a pacemaker implanted. After about 3 weeks, I started feeling light-headed and had difficulty concentrating, sometimes feeling like I might faint. My normal blood pressure prior to this implant was approximately 136/80. In recent months, my blood pressure is now much lower, approximately 100/60. I have spoken to numerous doctors and cardiologists and they have not been able to explain any of these changes, saying that this is relatively normal. I...

I'm 22 years old and I had my pacemaker implanted under the skin in my chest earlier this year. I enjoy my weightlifting and I'm quite lean so the pacemaker is clearly visible under my skin.
When I do chest exercises like bench press, the side of the pacemaker where the leads go in, pushes at the skin from below leaving a clear outline of that side of the pacemaker. I don't mind this but what I'm concerned about is if this could damage the skin...

Hi All,
My pacemaker is 9 years old, likely to be replaced next year.
I've never had any issues with it but i woke up this morning with slight redness at one end of my scar. It looks like perhaps a little red bump and then red around it like when maybe I have scratched it or got a spot that broke.
Should I speak to my GP about it or just keep an eye to see how it goes? I was so aware of infection when it was new but not sure if i need to be concerned now?
I a...

I am a gal who is 78 yrs. old and on July 28th I had my 2nd pacemaker replaced with a Medtronic MRI Surescan pacemaker. After my 1st & 2nd pacemaker surgeries, I had minor incision pain for only a few days. This third surgery has been very different. I have extreme pain that feels like something is tugging on the incision. The first two pacemakers used the same vertical incision, but this third one is horizontal and located adjacent to the previous incisions. ...

I spoke via Zoom with my cardiologist this past Monday. One thing he expressed concern over, and yes I've had some problems with this, is how high up my device is. In truth, I can feel it hit my left collar bone when I am at work. I have had my device about two months now and am getting used to it being part of my life. However, when I move my left arm, there is some discomfort. My cardiologist suggested that perhaps we should consider having it moved down and little more to my left. Has...

Hi all,
I've documented previously on here the problems I encountered post implant but I have a few things I'm throwing out as though I'm starting from scratch;
I was diagnosed with Mobitz Type II Second Degree Heart Block, I'm 57
I was fitted with a Medtronic Ensura PM on 10th Feburary 2020
It is a dual chamber unit but was set initially to single chamber pacing.
My recovery after the procedure was virtually non existent, in fact I...

Hey all,
Need some input/advice! I have CHB with a Medtronic dual chamber atrial sensing rate responsive pacer. The last few weeks, and with increasing frequency my heart rate has been rising up to 120-180 plus (measured via pulse oximeter) when barely moving or even just standing. If I am laying down I am ok, car rides seem to activate it as well. I get shortness of breath and major palpitations when it happens and upon laying down it will take up to 30 min to fu...

I too have a CRT pacemaker( following complications after having a dual lead pacemaker ) causing the left side of my heart to be out of synchronisation with the right. Mine was implanted almost 3 months ago. I agree with Gemita, go back to your doctor because you should be feeling well. Are you on any medication that could cause lightheadedness? You shouldn’...

Hey, a bit of back story! I am a 27 year old female and have had my pacemaker for 3 years. I had SVT which was ablated twice, then I developed a third degree heart block and went into ventricular standstill - mainly at night. So the pacemaker went in! It's dual chamber, set at 50-150 and is only on demand.
I am new to this group and have many questions about all your experiences! But my question today is... I get a random hiccup/burp type thing and then have...

Hi all. I've had a pacemaker since age 5, I am 42 years old. I've had 7 pacemakers (I think!) and have always done great with them. The bottom chamber of my heart uses the pacemaker 99%+. I got called into my cardiologist because I was getting some "noise" across my Merlin tests. They adjusted a few things but now I'm going for Echo and meet with my Dr. One topic mentioned was that since I've used a pacer for so long and so frequently in that lower chamber - there is...

Hello. I am 48 years old and had to have a PM in December last year. I have started noticing my breast appears to be larger and is tender. I thought I would ask if anyone else has that problem? I know it is also a sign of breast cancer, but before I jump to conclusions and freak myself out, I thought I would start with the group to see if anyone has had this issue. I do sleep on the left side and am just now getting use to the PM. Any help would be apprecia...

Hi,
I just had an upgrade pacemaker and ventricle lead put in early for heart block before my pacemakers battery was ready to be replaced.
I went into the hospital thinking I had COVID, and they found heart enzymes in my blood and when I was sleeping my heartrate would fall down into the 20's.
They quickly put in a new 2 lead pacemaker, and now I can breath so much breath better, and now I don't pass out. But it's been 2...

I have had shoulder and arm pain since my surgery 3 weeks ago. Just had appointment with ep to check pm and remove bandage. Had no explanations for pain. Possible frozen shoulder (from day1) . Doubt it. Had to wrestle me? Has no idea. Any suggestions would be helpful as I head in for valve replacement 8/13. Thanks
