I now understand the pacemaker does a self test every 21 hours. Until a recent pacemaker check up, I felt nothing....does that mean the self test had been turned off? After the check up I experienced a short burst of medium painfull palpitations every 21 hours.........does that mean the self testing had been re-instated?

Early Oct. ICD interrogation indicated 5 year remaining battery life for my device installed spring 2021. A week later the 16 beep warnings started. I had previously experienced this signal in 2021 after my 1st device lasted 7 yrs before battery depletion.
Met with Boston Scientific Rep and it was determined a sudden battery depletion had occurred. Immediate replacement was required and scheduled for the next morning. One lasted 7 years and anot...

Does the bedside monitor for Medtronic pacemakers work well? I'm not liking the phone battery drain from the MCL heart app.
I am new to the app but found a couple of things. The MCL heart app eats about 10% of the phone battery every day, (fairly new Samsung phone). if I turn on my phone's "power saving" mode, it makes the MCL heart app drain twice as fast, eating 20 - 30% of the phone's battery every day. Then when I turn power saving on the...

Onlangs werd na een syncope autocapture gewijzigd naar vaste output. Is dit een wijziging in de instellingen van de pacemaker en helpt deze wijziging syncopes vermijden ?
Dank je wel

My Heart Transplant team are moving to using MRI rather than ultrasound to image our hearts, where possible, because of the improved quality of information it gives them.
My current pacemaker and leads are MRI compatible, but I have an abandoned lead that predates my transplant and is neither connected to my pacemaker or to my heart; it had occluded a vein pretty thoroughly and it would have taken too long (and needed a set of skills not present in the theatre) to remov...

I have a biomass boiler that uses wood pellets, put in 7 years ago when the government were giving grants for green energy. It is being serviced today. The engineer when I told him aboyt my recent PM told me that there is a HUGE magnet at the back of the boiler and I should be careful.
I have been putting pellets in the hopper daily and have had no reaction (which probably speaks for itself), but wondered if anyone had any thoughts or opinions. It's a Grant boiler.

Hi, I have a straight pacemaker, one that stops one half of my heart falling below 60bpm.
It was fitted about ten years ago but will need new batteries and/or replacement in the next two years or so.
My question for anyone who has had this done *on the English NHS* is what kind of checks to they put you through before the new procedure?
Is there any new assessment made of the heart or is it simply old machine out, new one in. I recall before I had my first PM...

I'm wondering if anyone has had a Medtronic PM changed to another brand and if you're happy with the decision if you did.
I have a Medtronic Azure dual chamber and paced nearly 100% both Atrial and ventricular. I'm not happy with the rate response for many reasons. I want a PM with a rate response that is more physiological.
I'm active and also find that during any normal work activities where my rate response should kick in, it doesn't. I've had it a...

Hello! I had my pocket revision on Thursday due to one lead moving and protruding under the skin. He had to move the pocket down and deeper and was reimplanted with mesh. Now, just healing and dealing with pain. My doctor never prescribes pain meds for replacements or revisions according to his PA, but he gave me Norco and told the PA that I am going to need it - well, he was right!
Chest heart monitor -do any work with a pacemaker?

Hello all,
I am new to this community and so grateful that it exists! I used to wear a chest heart monitor strap to track heart rate during physical activity, as wristwatch monitors never seem to be accurate. After my pacemaker was implanted, I could not locate a single chest heart monitor strap that would work. There is no interference from the chest strap to the pacemaker; the pacemaker works just fine. The pacemaker seems to interfere with the chest strap, no matter how/where worn. H...

I had an av node ablation...new pacemaker, worked great for about 6-8 weeks....back to working out etc.
then...AFIB, very low / high heart rates...just feeling like hell.
Turns out my AV node grew back (album ver damaged) enough for m6 heart to beat on its own...which automatically overrides the pace maker.
took a lot of digging for them to firgure it out! Pacemaker was "on", just not engaging.

Is it normal to still have breathless symptoms after PM surgery?
Or does these symptoms ease over time?
My mum only had surgery on Friday and struggles with her breathing when going up her stairs.
Friday evening she had NO breathlessness going up her stairs but then last night she did struggle with her breathing going up her stairs.
Will this take time to improve?

Hello,
In the past month, I've experienced what feels like a fairly large increase in the number of PVCs. Over the past nine months, my interrogations indicated that the number increased from 4 per hour, then 7 per hour three months later, then 14 per hour three months after that. Now, when I feel PVCs and check my Apple Watch, I'll have 7, 8 or even 9 in a 30 second period and occasionally nearly 20 in a minute. They leave me feeling drained and lightheaded with my...

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
