Subject: RE: CARE LINK QUESTION

Hello sir,
I looked over your last check. Dr. Rowe wanted you to come back to see his nurse practioner in 6 months. We only use the Carelink monitor if a patient is going a full year before they are going to be checked. That is why you were not given dates this time. I checked and you are currently on the list for an appointment in January with Dr. Rowe's nurse prac...

PM with Brady

I have bradycardia with my resting heart rate normally in the 35-45 range with dips lower at night. My doctor told me that I might feel something after I get my pacemaker like my heart is racing all the time. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and what it would actually feel like once I have recovered from surgery?

Geting better

I had always understood that SSS does not improve, so imagine my surprise yesterday, when I learned that my average pacemaker use which has been 98% for the last two years is now 82%.

The estimated battery life at last check was 6.8 years, and is now 9.9 years.

I asked the PE and he basically said, SSS doesn't improve usually, but sometimes it does. [shrug]

Because everything was so good, the PE was finally willing to approve upping my base from 65 to 70 bpm. Wit...

EF improvement

My EF has improved left ventrical 48% and right 53%.
I am so pleased but the Montana cardiologist thinks l can go off medications. I did stop Lisinopril as it made my throat thick with slime and a cough but am questioning the Carvedilo. I am only on the smallest dosage twice a day but feel like these drugs helped heal my heart. I would appreciate your thoughts, especially those with CRT-D 's. Thank you for your help.

Post download results

I did my first scheduled download on Tuesday. Dr's office called and said that everything was good. I asked what was the percentage that the pacemaker was kicking in was. She said 85.6% a-pace. Does anyone know what that means? I think, since I was at 20% during my in office follow-up, that it may be that I am pacing at 85.6% and the pacemaker is pacing the remaining percentage. Not sure.

4month check up

Had my 4 month check up last Friday and now good to go for another year. Told to stay away from induction hobs and not to do any welding. Will leave both of these to my husband.
Have to stay on bisoprolol 2.5mg once a day. This makes me very tired still but getting used to it. Also gives me brain fog and after a day of concentrating at work I don't want to think when I get home. Or it could be my age 64 lol.
Feeling very positive now and raring to get on with my life.
So pleas...

increased heart rate

I have had my St.Jude pacemaker six days. It was set with a resting heart rate of 55 with a range up 130. I worked fine keeping me at a steady 55 until last night when i jumped at resting to 80bpm. The pulse ay 80 is regular and strong but we did the pacemaker elevate my heart rate 25 beats? Any thoughts. I will get in today or tomorrow to see my doctor and the pacemaker technician. Thank you....DRS

Are you an electro-cardiograph as well?

At my last pacemaker(Medtronic) check I was told that the device had recorded a period of ventricular tachycardia.I didn't feel it, nor have I felt any arrhythmia other than the occasional "skipped" beat which is nothing new to me.My question: How accurate is a pacemaker as a recording device.?I will doubtless be required to have a heart monitor 12-24 hour), to see if they can uncover the "beast". I really like my pacemaker. It works like gangbusters at 60 bpm. Anybody have a similar situation?

Cardiac MRI

Hi there group. I am 6 months post op pacemaker. Emergently placed pm for 2nd degree heartblock at 43.

Just had a cardiac MRI looking for anything wrong with my heart .. Just as recommended by my EP since I never had a symptom prior to my episode while driving and almost passing out.
Question... They reset my pm after my MRI, but I guess I'm nervous that it wasn't reset. I had a small episode yesterday where I thought I was going to pass out and got anxious. Of course I was...

First check up

Hi all,

So glad to have found this site. I'm just over 4 weeks post implant and it's definitely been a roller coaster. While I'm really happy to have the PM the hospital made it sound as though recovery would be so easy. Just take a week off and then everything will be fine! That made me feel as though I should be doing so much better than I have been, I was being really down on myself for struggling. It helps so much to know that what I'm going through has been shared by so many oth...

CLS, AV-delay, upper rate

This week I've had a stress test. I could not bring my heart rate up higher than 108 bpm, because I get out of breath. I have a dual lead Biotronik Eluna 8. My upper rate was at 120 during the test, the day after they've changed my pacemaker settings.

On previous checkups:
- the AV-delay was made longer to try to decrease the ventricular pacing, this worked.
- my lower rate was set to 80 bpm because of very bothersome PVC's.
-the rate response was made more aggressive...

New to the club

Can anyone offer me any advice? I had a pacemaker fitted in an emergency last week because of heart pauses in the night approaching 5 seconds. its a single lead ventricular Essentio SR and it has not yet been paced e.g. It is set at 60bpm until pacing on the 22nd of this month. I have also been put on to bisoprolol 2.5mg per day to take the edge off AFIB at night.

Anyway I feel lousy! can't walk at more than 3 mile per hour and have had a couple of funny turns while walking and apent...

First check up

I've just had my first checkup at the hospital. They said all is going well and my pacemaker is doing it's job. They said the top was 41% and the bottom was 1%. It wasn't until I came out that I thought what does that mean. Help anyone. They said to stay off work until I can lift my arm properly as being a primary school teacher I need full movement. So I've booked a doctor's appointment to get signed off for a couple more weeks. Still feel tired all the time so resting as much as possible. <...

CRT-D: Thumps & Hiccups

Hi, Club! I've been a lurker on this site since Jan 2014. My very unexpected gift of a dual lead pacemaker was gifted to me at 44 on Christmas Eve 2013. One minute I was home wrapping gifts, the next I was feeling downright crappy and told my husband we were going to the ER. The next minute I was diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block with no prior history - and was discharged on Christmas day with a shiny new St Jude dual PM. Fast forward 6 months and I started feeling exhausted - steps were...

pacer check up

Hi to everyone,
I've been very caught up in the beginning of school, so very behind in reading posts. I have a question, however: How often is a pacer check necessary when pm is no where near battery end life, every check up for 2 years has been fine and I pace at around 5%? And taking my doctors advice is not an option right now because I am in between doctors. Also, I did a search of site, but not helpful. Thank you!

CLS and PVC / VES, trying to get some sleep!

Hi everybody,

At the end of May I had a Biotronik Eluna 8 DT-R with two leads implanted after an hybrid ablation because of persistent afib. The ablation was successful in stopping afib but unfortunately it became clear I have sick sinus syndrome and normal sinus rhythm did not return.

In the last few month I have been recovering from surgery. My minimum heart rate was set to 60 en the maximum at 120, CLS was set to 'normal'.

Unfortunately I now have a lot of P...

Echo Results-Complete HB

Hi All,

My son is 3 yrs old and had his pacemaker when he was at 8mths old.Recently he had an echo done and the results are as follows;
Normal dimensions, normal function, trivial tricuspid regurgitation and normal right ventricular pressure.

Question,
With regards to trivial tricuspid regurgitation I have done some research online and it's proven to be nothing serious and of little importance.

Can someone on the club please share their knowledge who had...

Rate response

I have St Jude and recently had the rate response turned on by device nurse..dr. Said not having it turned on is like driving your car in 4th gear? Anyway I notice when I get up after setting or when I am working in the yard like today... My heart rate jumped up to 110 (approx) I felt winded and came in and rested a bit and it went back to normal. I also talked w the device nurse and she said they could turn response down to medium? Just trying to figure this all out... I am very physically acti...

PVC's

Hi Friends,
I had my second PM check today. I'l still having the "feeling like I'm going to pass out" symptoms that got the the PM to begin with. The tech told me I had had over 1.2 million PVC's since my last check in May. Can't seem to get and answer that I understand for why this is happening, but they insist that my HR will never go below 60. I now have a fitbit HR and I know that is not as accurate as it could be, but it OFTEN goes down to the low 50's and even the high 40's. During t...

Angina

I have a check up the 21st with my cardiologist and want to discuss the pain I am having with him. How do you tell if it is angina? I have pain fairly often in chest, many times on R side as well as across back. Pacemaker really doesn't show any major abnormality, occasionally afib. Is it angina or something else?
