Hi to everyone,
I've been very caught up in the beginning of school, so very behind in reading posts. I have a question, however: How often is a pacer check necessary when pm is no where near battery end life, every check up for 2 years has been fine and I pace at around 5%? And taking my doctors advice is not an option right now because I am in between doctors. Also, I did a search of site, but not helpful. Thank you!

Every so often

Depends upon what your EP sees in the printouts. I was at every three months, then went to six months, now I'm on every nine months. If my EP sees or hears of some problems, he will schedule an appointment accordingly.
You've got to look at the underlying heart problem versus the PM. They do a PM check to make sure it's working OK, but the big question is what is going on with your heart. Based upon what is going on there can determine how often you see the EP.
5%??

The pm is new for me, had it since June 22 and the ablation in July 20... 2015. How do you know what you pace at? I have a medtronix machine that I have to check every 6 months unless problems. But what is the 5%? I also am so tired most of the time and the pacemaker keeps flipping when I am lying down. Anyone else have the flipper?
Annual checks here

I am paced 100% of the time, and here in the UK they check my PM annually, unless there have been programming changes or any other issues to suggest more frequent checks.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.

I'm having problems so I am scheduled for a check up every 3 months. But before this year it was every 6 months. I think that is about normal.
