Hey guys,
This is for my Sick Sinus Node Syndrome friends with pacemakers.
I've had my pacemaker two years now, I often feel symptomatic like I did pre pacemaker install. Before install, I could feel my pauses coming on...hot flash back of neck, pressure build up in chest, gut pressure. A lot of physical feelings before a pause.
I still feel those symptoms now, even with a pacemaker. However, instead of passing out, or getting di...

Morning guys,,
any input please, I have a couple of tattoos over the years before my ICD and pacemaker was fitted and they are fading and need touching up,,, but I've asked a few artists and I kinda get a blank expression on there face where the tools they use are magnetic. One of the tattoo is about 10cm from the pacemaker and the other is on my back opposite the pacemaker,, any thoughts would be appreciated,,

Why not turn the PM off occasionally and see if healing of the heart enervation tissues has occurred? If there is any existing information about this idea I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Hello, I will be upgrading from a dual chamber pacemaker to a CRT-P in the next few weeks. I wanted to share a little background on my journey. I have been dependent on a pacemaker since 1990 after I had my aortic valve replaced and have had several battery changes and a laser lead removal. One of my battery change outs broke through the skin so I had to have the whole system taken out and new system put in on my right side. I have always been very active and never felt limited in anything I...

Greetings. I'm on my 2nd pm and last week it entered safe mode; so a constant 65 regardless of what it would be. I won't see the PA for almost a week and have no idea what the lag time will be before the surgery is set up. I get winded very easily and wish I could move things along asap.
I guess the shortness of breath, lack of stamina is not uncommon.
I am curious to see how long you had to wait to get your new device?
Also how you...

Apparently I have aFib(continuous) since Monday according to Medtronic transmission. On Eliquis 5mg 2xs per day since Tuesday. Hopefully will see doctor soon to discuss options.
The low heart rate I was picking up was my pacemaker not allowing my heart rate to go below 50bpm as it is set. I do not feel the flutter because of the pacemaker, but knew something was off.
I probably would have had a answer sooner but it seems the handheld that sits on the monitor...

Hi there,
I'm interested in finding out about who else out there has been paced for more than 20 years?
Also interested in finding out who else may already have 4 leads to a DUAL-CHAMBER PM!
I have 4 myself, in what has been about 24 yrs of pacing, and 3 are kaputski, so I AM IN A LIFE- THREATENING SITUATION. so it would be nice to know more about others who are now, or may soon be, facing THE CHALLENGE OF THERE BEING NO ROOM LEFT FOR ANY...

Hello!
I was wondering if there were any other parents of children on here?
My daughter had an emergency pacemaker implanted last week and because she also had strep, had to wait a bit for the permanent one, which was implanted 4 days later.
She is 10 years old and has complete AV block. She is 5 days post op and we are just trying to wrap our heads around it all and what this means...from recovery, to everyday life, travel, tech use, to limits on fu...

Here's a link that might be useful to anyone looking to see how remote monitoring works.

It's part of a more complex article but gives the general setup.

Hi Everyone,
I had my first Medtronic 2 wire pacemaker installed yesterday so very much a 'rookie'
I have looked at the forums...great stuff and very supportive!
I have noticed that the comments I can find on EMC experience are some years old.
I would love to know the recent real life experience good/ bad of people working with:
Induction cooktops
Noise cancelling headphones and earbuds
Chainsaws (gas and/ or electric)
An...

My Medtronic Consulta CTR pace maker is at the end of its life and is being replaced next week. My physicians office is being vague about the new model I will be getting (Good Canadian Health Care). They said I would be told on day of surgery.
I have A-fib and heart failure. I'm wondering which newer CRT device I would be getting and how they transfer all the settings over. My settings are a little different from the normal to help me walk/jog.
I also presume I wil...

Has anyone with a Merlin@Home monitor found a way to turn off that ghastly green power light. It feels as if I'm sleeping inside a badly lit aquarium, and is impacting my sleep quality.
Plastic tape over the light is a non-starter due to the presence of a cat dedicated to removing and eating plastic tape wherever it exists. The vet bill would not be fun.
At my first check up I'll be asking about the monitoring schedule to see if i can keep it turned off most of the time an...

I have a dual chamber pacemaker. The pacing was shut off to my right atrium because my providers said I was in Afib most of the time and it was not doing any good to pace the atrium and it was just using up my battery. So now I only have pacing to my right ventricle. This was confusing to hear, since I have complete heart block and thought the reason for my dual chamber pacer was to keep atrium and ventricle working together. Also thought the pacing to the atrium was h...

Hi,
I will have a CRT-D device implanted this coming Monday. I have a left bundle branch block leading to heart failure as described by my cardiologist. I am anxious and apprehensive about what I am facing. I hope that my symptoms (fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc.) will improve. Any input from members with similar experience would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mike O

Hi, just wondering if there are any active pilots with a pacemaker? I am getting ready for my check-ride, and now looks like things are on hold. Just wondering if you put in for the waiver, and are now cleared to fly?

This has been bothering me for some time and I'm wondering if anyone here has this included on their transmission reports. My pacemaker is Medtronic, dual lead that I got in 2020 due to 2nd and 3 rd degree Heart block.
At the top of my report, under History, it says " Normal sinus, frequent 2nd and 3rd AV block, NYHA Class I.
When I Googled NYHA Class I I found that's the heart failure classification. Class I being no restrictions on activities or symp...
