Feeling tired

I’ve had my pacemaker for 4 years now for av block  through myocarditis without any real problems.. however last weekend I nearly passed out while shopping.  I take Concor betablockers 2.5mg and lisiniopril 10mg a day.. I am constantly feeling tired and not 100% like me.. I’ve been to my GP who did say he will have to send me to the pacemaker clinic but they always say at the yearly checkups that everything is ok and tiredness is just my life (48 with 3 te...

pacemaker speeding up during transport to hospital

I was transported 3 hrs down a bumpy interstate in a emegency van. I had blockages and had stints installed two day later.   I have a question for the medtronics people.  From what i have been told by the doctors installing the pace maker, the shaking of the chess however cause the pacemaker to speed up.  Th three hr trip ended up being 3 hrs with my heart rate at over 100plus.  I felt tightness in my chess.   The problem I am having my pacemaker speeds up with the pul...

Meeting with EP tomorrow

Cardiologist suggested I meet with EP after latest echo said EF 29% after I have holding steady at 41-43% EF for years - have LBBB - I am shocked at latest echo  results as I walk every day 9-10 miles.  Jog sometimes an hr, slow but jog.  No symptoms ie Shortness of breath, lightheaded ness, fatigue.

Very anxious, pissed, skeptical, depress, all the emotions.   Assume down the road I might need a CRT but not now- I am very skeptical of this latest echo-...

Dreaming after pacemaker

Hi all. Since my pacemaker was fitted I have started dreaming at night. The dreams make me very active, punching and kicking the bed much to the alarm of my wife. The pacemaker was fitted to cure complete heart block. The theory is that the minimum HR rate of 50 is faster than my previous resting rate. Has anybody else had a similar experience? Cheers Bob

Airport security one pacemaker at a time

Many newbies have concerns about airport security. I have always told them, "It's not a problem. Just keep moving as you go through the scanning machine."

At the Raleigh-Durham airport security checkpoint, this time, there was a big sign pointing pacemake-people to a different kind of scanner altogether. This machine had footprints you were suppoised to stand on, arms upraised. Then, once outside it, you were manually searched about the shoulders.

I am grateful to hear other people with post op throat and neck pain.  I also thought about it being related to thyroid?  I have the same pain with moving from laying down and from getting up.

I had some fainting while swallowing solid food which was the root of my arrhythmia. I wonder if that’s perhaps what the pain is from?

I see my Doc Friday and will mention this posting. She has been great at listening to me pre-op.  We will see.

 Thanks...

Feel the Pace - Lead Revision to Bundle of HIS

I had a dual chamber Boston Scientific pacemaker installed back in May for Third Degree heart block as a result of an AVNRT ablation. My heart did not like the right ventricle pacing. One week ago today I under went a lead revision to replace the right ventricle lead with a bundle of HIS lead.

I am now pacing 100% in the HIS versus about 30-40% in the right ventricle. I immediately felt much better than I have since the pacemaker was implanted, the strength in my legs came back ve...

Hi everyone just joined! Had my on demand pacemaker fitted 16.8.19 very anxious at the moment, I have left hand bundle branch block, I went running on the 15th and went light headed and passed out, I came around and sent my symptoms via my reveal unit, then told my heart stopped for 30sec then reset itself! Haven’t been told it was a heart attack but pacemaker was fitted the next day sorry for the lack of technical knowledge but it’s an on demand type.

I am worried about my...

I am here for you

Hello everyone on Pacemaker Club! I haven't been on in a while but I want to make an effort to come on more often to chat with my peers about anything.

Just a little background of my conditions

I obviously have a pacemaker which I received at the young age of 9 back in 1996 (wow I feel old saying that) and have had multiple new ones since.

I also have a few heart disease, I have double outlet right ventricle, pulmonary valve stenosis and transposition of the great arteri...

Disability due to heart disease

Hi. I have had Cardiomyopathy and Heart Failure since the age of 6 months. Was a very sick baby but not so much as a kid growing up... sure I had limitations and had to take medication but I never felt like my heart disease stopped me from living a full life.

Been through many traumas and scary situations through my life but, yet again, I seem to bounce right back until March 3rd, 2011. My whole world stopped. I went into a VTach storm and my defibrillator shocked me 23 times in a...

Skipping beats

I’m in a hotel at the airport and noticed my heart skipping the odd beat. I’ve only had my PM for about 6 days and my anxiety is going through the roof. Please tell me this happens to other people. I’m on the verge of not getting on the plane. My heart is still regular but skips. I’ve suffered with AF and Flutter for years and had multiple ablations. This was meant to be my new beginning. Help

Which would you believe?

1. Manual BP check (Stethescope held by a nurse with good hearing): "I can barely hear your pulse!  - I come up with something like 85/48."

2. Arm BP device: Usually "E" - due to my PVC's or various numbers high and low.

3. Wrist BP device: Seems the most reliable. My usual numbers are 105/64 P85 PVC's ignored

Who would YOU believe?

Only 4 days after PM op

Hi I am a newbie to this site and also to having a pm. I had op last Thursday.

I am 57, live in UK and all my life I have had Predominantly cardioinhibitory automically mediated syncope with a heart stop of 18 secs, although this was only fully and properly diagnosed 18 months ago. Finally 2 weeks ago I agreed to the pm and had the operation last Thursday.

I am still shocked that it has come to this although I clearly understand the help it can give me,...

July 3rd had pacemaker installed

good morning, I am a 54-year-old woman that just had a pacemaker and defibrillator installed on July 3, 2019. This is very hard for me to process and deal with. I’ve always had major heart palpitations and it seems like they’re worse now. Even though I just went to my doctor last week for my bandage removal and he said see you in five months I just carry a major fear. I feel like my heart is beating out of my chest. Has anyone else ever been so afraid to feel better?...
