Hello all,
I called and spoke with my device center. Left message for nurse and haven't heard back yet.
My PM was inserted in April. I live in MN and am outside from usually 11am - 4pm M-F. Today was 23 degrees. I am seriously feeling cold especially on my chest even with 3 layers on.
I have no bra or straps on near the incision. Only a base layer shirt.
Today it felt as if if weird creepy crawly movements were going from bottom of the PM to my collar bone.
I...

I had a Medtronic sure scan implanted at the end of 2012 to help with some syncope. Over the past year I lift anything heavy I get shoulder pain and then my lymphnodes around my PM swell up and hurt. Over the year it has taken less and less movement for pain to occur. My last visit in May I brought this up and Doc said it was in the right place and I must have just been hitting the device. I am 35 and have two young kids so not lifting things with my left arm isn't a viable option. Anyone...

Can a pacemaker break in your chest? My boston terrier weighs about 40lbs jumped up on my chest this morning and I heard a pop and I'm afraid he damaged it, now the area just feels weird. It feels like its moved. Am I nuts, just worrying about it or should I be concerned and call the doc?

My PM was installed 9/7/18. Since then I thought I was having arrythmia (as I used to), but now I believe it is a setting that does something every 8 hours, on the hour. 7 a.m., 3 p.m. & 11 p.m. I've logged it and that's what it is. Does anyone have this same type of scenario going on?
In addition, it was necessary to have mine on my right side due to lympnode issue due to cancer. But when this 8 hour timing thing happens, there is something tha...

This article has just been published by the UK's Guardian newspaper, but refers to problems with implants around the world and I thought might be of interest to some here.
Link: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/nov/25/revealed-faulty-medical-implants-harm-patients-around-world
Patients around the world are suffering pain and many have died as a result of faulty medical devices that have been allowed on to the market by a system dogged by poo...

It's been a while since I've posted. I am now 6 mos. post op, biventricular icd. I do feel somewhat better, but I still have some dizziness, light headed-ness, shortness of breath, but manage to not pass out. Lately, I have been so exhausted that I fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I have been questioning my doctors about my symptoms and was finally given an echo and had a device check. Upon my follow up, I was asked if anyone ever mentioned that I had Afib and that I have a leak...

*Title of this post is changed, because of new findings
Dear members,
I apologize for my English first, it has been a while since I wrote something outside my comfort zone.
On the 14th of November 2018, I received a pacemaker, due to cardiac arrest and vasovagale syncopies. All went well and I had the best night of sleep since ages. However, after 3 days a terrible pain in my left chest appeared, and I rushed to the hospital again. The only thin...

After my device was implanted in my left chest to treat bradycardia my abdominal pains have been slowly worsening. I believe I’ve been tested for everything that would cause abdominal pains by the GI doctors. They come up with nothing that could cause chronic abdominal pains.
So I decided to ask on here to see if anyone has endured chronic abdominal pains since their pacemaker was implanted.
Ive been suffering from this pain since about 6 months after the implant...

I am on my third medtronic pacemaker and had my last implant on 8/23/18.
I did not need any pain meds at all follwing either of the two previous implants and never had issues with where the device was at.
This time, the pocket was revised, device was sutured onto the pectoral muscle, and a new lead was added. Previous leads were left in place due to concers of possible complications removing them. (Not exactly sure how the...

Hello Everyone! I had a 2 lead PM implant on 5th June following a failed ablation for SVT's (which damaged my AV node). I have Barlow's syndrome as well. I've had my PM adjusted once since the implant and it made a world of difference. Everything was going fine and then about the beginning of Sept I started having palpitations again, but the PM would kick in and it would stop. I spoke with the PM department and they said I should be fine and it was no...

I had my pacer in May 2018 for sick sinus syndrome, and a cardiac loop monitor removed. I have developed keloids and tremendous pain like a match being struck on chest , can’t sleep welll for discomfort and it is very painful. MD says it’s nerves regenerating but it’s been six months and I want to know has anyone had this and how long did it take to go away. It burns stings and feels like a match being struck. I can’t touch it without it sending shock waves through che...

I have a question, I am 4 1/2 weeks out from having my pacemaker surgery. I have intermediate AV node block. Since my two weeks check up, and adjustments to my Settings I experience being lightheaded and headaches every evening, seems like after I exert myself a little as far as taking a shower, doing small household chores, walking to the mailbox. Is anyone else experiencing this or has experienced lightheadedness and headaches every night. Thank you

I'm not sure if it's a 'complication' but I continue to have a four count 'thumping' especially at night in the area of my left upper rib cage. I mentioned it at my last check up and they turned off the night time testing thing and said that should take care of it. It didn't so wondering if anyone else has that going on and if they know what it is?
Have gotten used to the night time flutters. :X
Thank you for reading.

I need to use a hand sander on a floor. I've been told not to be around any tools with magnets, since having a pacer? My little book that came with my device is packed up, as I'm moving or I could look it up. Anyone have any kind of info to help.....

I had a pacemaker implanted 6/2018 along with an AV ablation. Everything went good and my hear rate was set to 80 BPM. During a follow-up check-up my HR was lowered to 70 BMP. After a few weeks I noticed that my HR was increasing gradually back to 80 BMP and was becoming more variable. A check with the EP indicated that the PM was fine but pacing less than 95%. THe EP explain that my heart healed the scar tissue from the AV ablation and I was getting electrical conduction from the Atrium whic...

So, I had my AV node ablation on 22 October, and if I didn't exactly skip out of the hospital I walked out and up a long hill I would never have contemplated the day before.
The next two days I walked between 2km and 3km each day, did various outstanding chores around the house and garden, and admired my matchstick legs...
And then I woke up breathless, with elevated blood pressure and swollen legs again, and got progressively more so until the Monday just gone I had a convers...

Anyone else suffer from bouts of feeling like your heart is racing, maybe for about 15 seconds, everyday around the same time? It usually happens for me between 1230-130AM. I only notice it if I’m awake. I’ve had my PM for 8 months and had my settings adjusted recently in hopes that it would help with this, although this has been happening since I got the PM and before setting changes. Just curious to see if I’m the only one dealing with this.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
