crossing my arms

I had my third pacemaker implant April 2013. The first two I had no complications at all. Since I have had this one I am more fatigued and when I do things like sweeping, bathing, washing delicate clothes in the sink etc, anything that I cross my arms I get short of breath and feel fluttering. Sweeping with a broom is the worse, I just cannot do it. My telephone check are normal but this problem will not go away. Has anyone had this problem? Thank You

Ventricular Tachycardia

Hi!

I haven't been on the site for a really long time, but I am hoping someone here can help me.

I have had a PM since 2009, but have always had a lot of problems with fast heart rates. Always avoided medication. These rates have always been sinus tachyardia.

At my yearly pacing check today, there is a recording of a 1 second, 8 beat long VT, which spontaneously resolved. This has terrified me, because for me VT means risk of death! My cardiologist does not seem...

Refrigerator

Just wondering...
if magnets need to be kept away from the pm, does that mean I shouldn't lean my back against the refrigerator door?? Just wondering, since here I am sitting on a kitchen floor, leaning against the fridge door... o.O

Missed heartbeats

Hi I haven't posted for a while and I am pleased to say that all has been well with the pacemaker until five days ago when I suddenly developed a feeling of my heart missing a beat. This has continued and is now getting increasingly worse , I checked my pulse and my heart beat misses a beat every two or three minutes.
Not sure why this has suddenly happened, I did have a nasty fall ten days ago , falling up steps and landing on my knees and falling foreward on my hands with a jolt but woul...

Need Pocket Revision

Had my PM replaced 8/8/13. I immediately knew when the original one went into reserved mode. Afib drove me nuts. Just got back from my cardiologist appt. This was the first time he saw the site and he was very upset. Unfortunately, he was away on a family emergency when I went into the hospital and a covering doc did the surgery. Cardio said he sees that the skin, which is very thin, looks like its about to tear. I am a cancer survivor and was left with a nonexistant immune system, that re...

Hello everybody! I have a biotronic evia pacer... Recently in the ER with horrible chest pains not constant they would come last a few seconds I would feel my pacer go crazy then would just go away. So I'm all hooked up to the monitors in the ER laying on the stretcher and out of no where the horrible pain comes and I get dizzy and neauseas as I'm saying something's not right the monitor goes crazy and says vTech... this happens 3 or 4 more times that night the pacer rep come and says the device...

Need replacement

At my cardio office yesterday, seems I have one month left on power supply life of my initial Biotronik pm. PM rep told me in about a month unit will decrease power and reduce preset rate of 60 bpm down to about 54 bpm (an 11% reduction) this will probably extend power supply life by about 3 months.
Have any of you gone thru this?
Because I am now over 65 years old, I am on medicare. My cardiologist says because I am not totally dependent on PM that I must be in a life threating situ...

Today is post op day 8...

So why do I have to be an oddball and feel bad? Here is the story. At the age of 38 I had my first EP and tilt table study with an ablation of AVNRT. We did the EP because of multiple syncopal episodes, sustained svt and recordings of 12 to 15 beats of VT. I am now 42 and had my first PM put in last Monday. The procedure was a perfect text book case. I have a top notch doc. I had my Medtronic Reveal removed and the PM put in. The Reveal recorded, nicely, SSS (HR 170 to 32 in 9 seconds) in additi...

Really need support asap if you can

Hi all, sorry to be posting again. I am seriously thinking about admitting myself into a psch unit. I have been having trouble fore a week or so. Last weekend went to the ER only to be told it was stress. I was having sweats and chest pains. Today I woke up and checked my heart rate and it was in the 70's and shouldn't be because I am paced 100% at 85. I panicked and went to the ER. EKG was normal, while on monitor I saw my heart rate go to 70 and then 60 later. Biotronnik got there around 6 ho...

Need answers

Hi Everyone
I wanted to tell more about my situation and what l am experiencing now. Before getting my dual pacemaker l would either get dizzy spells or black out and have always had something to hold on to so l never got that hurt. In June that was not the case. We were downtown Toronto and l felt one coming on. I yelled out to my husband who was a couple of feet in front of me. He said when he turned my arms were at my sides and l fell flat over. No buckling of the knees. Just straight fl...

Defective Medtronic Kappa 700 Pacemaker

I had a pacemaker implanted back in 2001. For the most part I felt fine up until late 2008. This is when I started noticing little twitches under my pacemaker. These started slow and light and by the end of 2009 it full blown shocking me under and around my pacemaker. Finally the doctors decided to remove it in November of 2009 somewhat relieving me of the painful shocks. At the time I was never told anything about my pacemaker before or after it was removed only that it had defaulted in me. Jus...

pauses after pacemaker placement

Hello, I'm new to this site but have a lot of unanswered questions about things I feel after my pacemaker was put in. I had inappropriate sinustachycardia and had an ablation done on January 15, 2013 after my ablation my pulse rate rarely got over 40 even when I was up doing things. My ep dr left me at that low of a pulse rate until april 2 when we had no other choice than to put in a Boston Scientific pacemaker. I never had pauses before my ablation but after I had 6 to 7 seconds pauses const...

Lead Impedance and electric shock every 3 hours

Hi All,
This is my first message on behalf of my son. Medtronic PM Sensia model (epicardial) was implanted this year in Aug. It has 2 leads but only atrial is pacing at the moment. Ventricular lead was connected initially but it started to use more battery than expected and apparently it should not have been pacing at all for the moment, so they switched off the pacing on this one.
My son is experiencing 3 electric shock exactly every 3 hours each day under diaphragm region. It is qui...

Angina since pacemaker inserted

I had my pacemaker fitted after I was admitted to hospital with chest pain. An angiogram was found to show no narrowing of the coronary arteries. However, all the time I was in hospital my heart rate and rhythm were being monitored. This picked up that I had intermittent slow heart beat - dropping as low as 26 at times. I did not experience breathlessness, chest pain or dizziness. My cardiologist decided to insert a pacemaker stating that I was at risk of not only a slow heart beat but also a fa...

Spasms

My 16 year old son had his first pacemaker implanted on July 3 and he has had problems with the bottom lead making his stomach have spasms. The doctor has turned the volts down on the bottom lead to the point that it can't be turned down any lower. He is very skinny and almost six foot tall. We just took him back to the doctor to have it adjusted and if this doesn't work he may have to have the lead repositioned. Has anyone else had this problem?

lead displacement Q&A

Hello All - I would appreciate very much if some of you who have experienced lead displacement would tell me how you knew that was the issue. I've experienced it 2 x with my Bi-vent pacemaker. First time I woke up on the floor, 5 days later in the hospital someone decided to look at the xray they took day 1. The second time all of the same side effects came back. I'm currently experiencing consistantly inconsistant issues similar to lead displacement yet the X-ray doesn't coincide this time. Jus...

Dizzy/Light-headed

I have had my pacemaker for four years now and just in the last year I start to get this fuzzy/funny feeling when I swim. These past few months I have gotten them just randomly, for example when I'm sitting in my desk at school. I've told my doctor about this several times and have done 24 hour monitors and stress tests and yet everything comes up fine. When I go see him, he does a tune up and fixes things here and there in order for me to not have any possible PVC's or dropped beats. He also to...
