Need answers

Hi Everyone
I wanted to tell more about my situation and what l am experiencing now. Before getting my dual pacemaker l would either get dizzy spells or black out and have always had something to hold on to so l never got that hurt. In June that was not the case. We were downtown Toronto and l felt one coming on. I yelled out to my husband who was a couple of feet in front of me. He said when he turned my arms were at my sides and l fell flat over. No buckling of the knees. Just straight flat on my face. I did a lot of damage, more then l ever have before. I broke my two front teeth and broke a cap. X-rays should l had a hair line fracture to my sternum and collapsed one of my lungs. My Doctor also said l had whiplash. My chest was bruised. It will be 8 weeks this Wednesday and lam still sore. It aches when l walk from my waist up. Occasionally where the pm is l get a lot of pain there, like a feeling of being punched. Enough that it makes me double over, this happens either when lam sitting around to walking or waking up in the middle of night were l have woken up to this pain. My setting have been changed and l have not had any dizzy spells, l feel more confidence. From time to time l read other peoples postings and read that there running again and are going back to work. What lam asking, is this normal to have pain were the pm is? And has anyone else experience this? I have heard the term pocket pain, is this what it is? It also gets really red from time to time. I still cannot raise my arm over my shoulder. If anyone out there can answer any of these questions l would be grateful. Thank you for any info, for am getting frustrated.

Thanks for responding to my questions.
I fell the last week of June, and my surgery was the last week of July.
I am 50 years old, It was my Birthday gift. No, do not have osteoporotic.
For pain my Dr. has me taking, when needed percription pain killers. My Dr. has ordered x-rays and an ultrasound this week.
So l guess everything lam experiencing is normal, for l am not a athlete. I just thought l would be back at work, and my life would be back to normal.
Thanks again

I echo a lot of what Angrysparrow said. I had a bad cycling accident early July, with a couple of skull fractures, a broken vertebra and heavy bruising all over my back. It kept me in hospital for 5 weeks. I am still experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort related to the injuries. I had a PM replacement just a few weeks before the accident from which I felt no discomfort before the accident, but since then I have had pain in that shoulder, which seems to result in discomfort around the PM, but not a serious as you have described. I consider myself fit for my age (69), but this trauma has been more serious than any sports-related injuries I have had, and I am not surprised you are still suffering considering your injuries. I am sure the medics have told you this, but it's important to keep up moderate exercise.

Skull fractures, broken vertebra. Sounds pretty bad. You have had it worse then me. Hope you feel better soon, and thank you for responding.
I will for sure keep up with my exercise routine.
All the best to you.
