Just curious if anyone else has been told about, offered or received the new barostim devices? My center is ramping up to receive their first shipment and talking to possible first candidates (apparently doc thinks I might be one). I know this different type of "pacing" if you can truly call it that is really new to market and am wondering what everyone's thoughts are. If you need a link to the website just holler. Otherwise google barostim and go to the...

I am wondering if anyone here has had the Watchman implanted, and if so how did it go? Developed Afib and flutter after sepsis and endocditis however some docs feel I won't meet criteria for implant due to valvular disease (I have mitral valve implant). FDA covers non valvular only at this time. I am not a candidate for blood thinners due to history of bleeds so there is that issue.
Did anyone come across this issue of have valve disorders and still get the implant?

I have noticed that since my PM implant on 04/01/21 I can no longer get an ECG on my Apple Watch 5. I was able to do this before and wonder if it is because with my cardiomyopathy I am pacing at 99%. I also am having an issue with my AirPods. After about 15 seconds my left AirPod stops working. I have verified that they are charged. I could find nothing about this on the Apple website.
Maybe it's just coincidence but just curious 🙂

Hello again, I seem to be on here every other day asking advice . I felt brave enough to attempt a bus ride to local shops as a step forward and gain confidence. All ok for around 30 minutes then I was very conscious of my heart pounding hard and felt ridiculously hot and Clammy ..... no pain ,no dizziness but I felt quite vulnerable . Just wondering at what point do I check this out the ,number I've been given is contactable Mon to Friday, Drs are not open and...

I'm 7 months out and having periods of lightheadedness. My BP is always around 114/70. Tried to do a 2 mile hike yesterday and once I got started, my pulse got up to 115. Varied between 115-90. I am set at 60 bpm. I try to keep from being dehydrated, but the fluids don't seem to stay with me. Is there any secret to staying hydrated? I called the device clinic to see if they could tweak my adjustments and they said there wasn't one for lightheadedness. Told me to go back to the EP...

Two weeks in from having Pacemaker .past couple of days I have been experiencing being very conscious of my heart beating quite fast this settles after a short time then reoccurs . Unsure if it's because I'm anxious about the Pacemaker working properly or is this what is suppose to happen when heart beat goes too slow and Pacemaker kicks in. Wondering if anyone else has this. Trying to stay positive and take it all in my stride .... but emotions are takin...

For the past few days I have been getting long periods of alternating ectopic and paced beat. As I have had an AV node ablation I am paced 100%, and my rate is set at 80. But when these ectopics start it means that of the 80 bpm I am only getting 40 effectual ones as the ectopics do not pump blood properly. It is very stressful as I feel quite breathless and cannot do anything. The pacing clinic have looked at a download and said there is nothing they can do and my heart...

Hi am a Newbie as only had my PM 1 week. Advised due to SS Sydrome .
After I 'crashed' on a short training run 1 month ago. Also as well as pausing 3 seconds at 40 bpm they identified fibrillation at the top end. Cardiologist strongly recommended I start taking Blood Thinning drugs. As I am not on any drugs I am hoping there might be other more 'natural methods' which might be an alternative to drugs...

Sorry this is long...I went in with symptoms of heart problems and get diagnosised with bradycardia and murmur. I received a 2 lead pacemaker then 2 months later a 3 lead in 2012. I have had random symptoms a pacemaker checks, asked questions and now just had generator replaced 2021. My murmur has never been addressed. I find out at that time just pre surgery that the 2 lead had put me into congestive heart failure..the 3 lead took me out of CHF and that 1 year prior ago I was mod...

Last August I was given a Medtronic Carelink monitor and contacted by the hospital to carry out a manual download. I have not heard any thing since then and it now sits unplugged in its box. How do I know when to make another download ? TIA

I am sure that almost everyone here has had an experience similar to mine today--but it has caused me some slight concern that I know you can address.
At the grocery store, my favorite iced tea (12 pack of cans) was for some reason stocked only on the top shelf. I reached up--I'm 3 months post-implant, but I still reached mainly with my right arm, using my left to support the box on the way down. The box had gained some momentum & landed instead precisely on my pacemaker! I...

Hi,
Does anyone know if Air Purifiers interfere with pacemakers. I have just bought a Dyson Cool Me purifier, and the first thing on the leaflet is a warning that both the device and the remote contain magnets. Obviously I am not going to put the remote in my pocket, but will this affect the pacemaker. They do warn you not to put credit cards on top of th eunit or the remote, but don't say how strong the magnets are..
I do get a bit jumpy when new gadgets are...

Hello everybody
Just a chit-chat post, but I could have selected "coping"...
I had my CRT-D installed 2 months ago. (My Chf was diagnosed in November 2020)
Healing went fine, scar is ok. No bruises, no problems... I have a control échographie end of may, and I'll see my cardiologist beginning of June.
I still find it a little bit frustrating that I need to wait so long, but, it is what it is...
I may have mentionned that I live in France. Luc...
Tingling - Doubtful That It's From The PM

So I've had my Medtronics Dual Chamber PM (Sparky) since May 2017 and never had any problems with it.
Over the years, perhaps 2 or 3 times at most, I get a tingling on my right side, from the neck down and the to the right shoulder and maybe 2 to 3 inches down my arm.
It feels like a low level "stim" and can last a few days to a few weeks and then goes away.
I have no idea what it's from and fully doubt it has anything to do with the PM.
Any thou...

After a continuous bout of Bradycardia (35bpm) I was hospitalized for a full week. The first half of the week was spent having Cardio docs see if eliminating my Diltiazem (Cardizem) would fix the problem. It did not - so they had to thicken my blood back up and then they installed a single-lead Medtronics unit. Now at 60bpm (minimum) I feel great and can walk over a mile without feeling like I had depleted blood in my legs. I will be 81 in June. I thank God regularly for the blessing of this...

So I've had this new pm for about a year now and recently on some days it jolts for about 5-10min at a time. I feel a little tired afterwards when it stops but other than that feel normal, should I be concerned?
