Hey all,
Still getting used to my CRT-P device. This week I have been having palpitations more than usual. I took a number of readings with my Kardia 6L device and from what I can see the palpitations appear to be happening when there is no visible p wave on my recording. I will have several beats with a distinct p wave then several where there appears to be no p wave. Anybody know anything about this?

Visit from new EP, I think understand most of it, however a few things are unclear. Such as ventricular escape and do not fully understand what an R wave is and PVAB.
There have been numerous episodes of mode switching noted. It appears that these are actually due to intermittent far-field R wave over-sensing rather than true atrial fibrillation. Of note, it appears on interrogation today that the patient is in...

I have a medtronic monitor. Last night i noticed the the glowing green light on it was out. Would come on when i put the overhead light on or in the daylight. Should that be of concern to me? I know many have theirs underthe bed with a towel over to block the light.
Surprised it went out as for me has only been used since Aug 2019. Thought the light would have lasted longer.?

Amazing new study finds that the heart has a back up natural pacemaker and that after ablation could still perform pacemaker duties.

He is a public sports figure, and is a really good guy (as far as I have observed him as a manager, broadcaster and former player), but we have a notable person getting a pacemaker, for what sounds like bradycardia today, 3/3/21, Aaron Boone, field manager of the NY Yankees.
Aaron, if you come to the PM Club for help- I hope you look us up- plenty of advice and alot of us here were youn...

I had my dual chamber fitted 7weeks ago after a diagnosis of Bradi/Tachi. I haven’t been given a follow up appointment as yet and there are questions I need to ask. I Nordic walk for exercise but not sure how long I need to wait before doing this , a bit worried that the impact of the poles striking the ground might dislodge the wires into my heart. Although I feel well and quite recovered I have the occasional sudden drop in blood pressure which makes me feel faint and breathless...

Hello all who've been fortunate to have received a COVID vaccine - did you opt for the pacemaker-side arm or the other arm? I've read reports of localized swelling from some of the vaccines. Thanks.

Today I finally got the call after waiting 9 months... i am having my EP study/ablation on 15th March!
Feeling very nervous as I had a traumatic experience with my pacemaker surgery, but also hopeful that this will stop my horrible symptoms that occur daily!
If anyone has had one, I would love to hear your surgery experiences/how you felt afterwards.
Hope you are all keeping safe!

Has anyone on here with a Cardiac Pacemaker also had a Nerve Stimulation device for Chronic pain fitted?
From what i gather the pain device looks similar to a Cardiac PM.
My pain dr is suggesting it as an option at this stage,
i already have a dual chamber PM just wondering if anyone has any experience with such?

I am scheduled for a MRI next week. Any advise on what to expect? I am a bit claustrophobic. It will be done at a hospital because of the pacemaker.

Just received my second covid shot. I had a mild reaction, sore arm and some flu like symtoms, but recovered by next day. I urge everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
FYI: Pfizer vaccinne has been shown to be 92% effective after first dose. So effective that they have delayed booster shot so more people can get their first dose.
Unrelated topic: I will be traveling cross the USA for the month of april, with an emphasis...

This is just for fun really. I got my pm almost a month ago, and it seems to be in an odd place. It is very nearly in my left armpit! The bottom of the incision is about an inch over & an inch above the top of my "pit crease"(?) . I actually feel the lump when I move my arm certain ways. I should say that I am female, so perhaps my doctor was concerned about certain fashion choices exposing the scar or bump. Either that or he had other things on his mind when doing my proce...

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience, I have a dual chamber pacemaker for Complete Congenital Heart Block, I had my first pacemaker at 6 weeks and This is my 4th pacemaker, implanted 3 weeks ago.
My pacemaker is usually working around 100% of the time, based on my old, single chamber pacemaker, with a minimum rate of 60.
Ever since the implantation of this new dual chamber pacemaker, my resting heart rate has been a...

I had a Medtronic PM implanted 6 months ago. I am wondering what does the clinic look for and how often? Or is there some sort of alarm that lets someone know of a malfunction?

I would love to sleep on my left side with left arm rised and under the pillow. Its my natural position, and the most comfortable. However, I had to have a cable replaced due to unknown malfunction a year ago, and since then I've not dared to rise my arm above my head.
Nothing to do with doctors orderds, the cable had high impedance (not cut but likely too deeply anchored and developed scarring). Yet I connected that failure to rising arm above my head, as a nasty doctor told m...

Well, I have had flutter off and since 2012. Now it's on totally, Suspect it has been caused by 40 years of excessive exercise, much slowed now thanks to flutter. I am 76. Had three ablations, first 2012 and last two 2020. First right ventricle, then left. First one lasted three days and second nine days. Alos got a pacemeker 2017 for bradycardia. Still exercizing regularly, bicycle 120 miles a week! 10 to 12 hours. No diabetes, no high blood pressure, oxigen levels are normal, resting ra...

Hi! I thought I was doing very well until I went for my semi-annual in-person device interrogation. At the interrogation, I found out that I had 4 monitored VT events, the longest event was 7 minutes. I had no idea I had this. The lady doing the interrogation, just casually mentions this to me, and I asked if it is something concerning, and she responded "no". She didn't even tell me when did these events occurred. I am very active, I ride mountain bikes, and plan on...

Good Morning All! The past month or so I have been having episodes where my heart thumps for a time. I have manually taken my pulse rate during this and it seems my heart thumps twice, hesitates and then thumps twice again. My pulse is around 46 during this time. My pacemaker is set a minimum 60. Could their be a problem with my pacemaker?
