My wife had an aortic aneurysm repair yesterday at the Cleveland Clinic and is coming home today! That procedure is an amazing minimally invasive advancement to fix a life threatening problem. Her aneurysm was 5 cm and was discovered by accident a few weeks ago during a CT for an unrelated issue. Needless to say; after that discovery we saw it as a ticking time bomb that needed immediate attention. Prior to this, she had not had any health issues and other than occasional mammo...

I'm ba-a-ack. Once again with something that feels like an arrythmia, but nobody can find it.
Since March of this year, I have two week-long monitors, in both cases, the official result was no abnormal rhythms detected. However, my EP theorized that I was still having RNRVAS. He widened the PVARP even more (making it so that I'm practically never paced in the ventricle.) Almost immediately I could feel a 60-75% improvement.
However, I still have the other symptoms showing...

Hi,
I had my Pacemaker procedure done six days ago.
The only question I have has to deal with my pain around the incision. For the past couple of days, my pain is sporadic. I go through periods, of approx. 3o minutes feeling NO pain, than all of a sudden it reapears. The intensity of the pain is pretty much the same level as I had in the recovery room. My pain never has been severe. I only take Tylenol and not that often.
I was just wonderi...

Hey, y'all! I am back after long hiatus from the club. Not many will remember me but that's what happens.
Had first pacemaker installed 2013. All was well for many years but the pacemaker was getting low on juice, a bit early since I am 100% paced, so got a new generator installed March 2021 rated for 13 years this go round!
In the the meantime, started having chest pains, thought it was reflux, but endoscope said no. Had already planned it with cardiology...

Had my PM put in on Friday. It was breeze. There was never any real pain. Just soreness at the incision site. Don't notice anything different with my heart, other than a steady 60BPM, which is dramatically different from the 30-40BPM I've had for the past 40 years. I do notice a tiny bit of numbness in my left hand post op. I'm thinking that maybe the site swelling is impinging on the brachial plexus and causing that sensation? I don't think it's coincidence.&nbs...

I am wondering if convection microwave ovens are safe for us pacemaker patients. I read that of course microwaves are not a problem nor are the convection ovens. However, I did read that we need to stay away from convection microwave ovens. Would appreciate your responses. I couldn't find any queries on this specific item and as I am moving into a place where there is a convection microwave it is a matter of concern.
Thanks!

How do you co-relate symptoms with settings??
Different recommendations on each visit still cannot get it right.

Hello
I have recently returned from toronto where I was checked before receiving my remote monitor. I was hoping for better help with my PM as after 5 months and 6 pror appointments, they still cannot agree on settings. All but one one left me SOB and exhausted and set me back on my exercise program to almost post op. Another symptom which is really problematic for me is brain fog or confusion, memory and focusing issues. So on the 6th I was with the cardiologist...

Hi everyone,
Newbie here first post so please treat me gently.
At a recent pacemaker check I was concerned that my ventricular pacing had increased and the consultant mentioned that there could be a link between this and mild mitral valve regurgitation which was found on my echo. The technicians then made some changes to my settings that have reduced the ventricular pacing. I asked what they did and they mentioned some algorithm to extend the AV delay?
I kn...

Hi , firstly I know I should be asking my EP the following questions, but they have little / no time during appointments etc .
Last interrogation, I was unaware that they turned my pace rate down from 70 to 60 bpm.
I felt a little funny for several weeks, only on going to gym etc and prolonged bending over , on getting out of bed too. I thought I was imagining things till I finally phoned hospital and spoke to an arithmia nurse who looked at my notes . I'...

Hello everyone,
My name is Chrissy. I'm 37 and I got my pacemaker on 10/16/2023. I recently came across this website looking for a support group. Let me know if any of you have experienced what to have. I think I may have needed a pacemaker for a few years without knowing it. I started running in 2015. It was really difficult. I had no energy and I would tank or lose energy very quickly. I thought for a few years that maybe it was because I was out of shape or I was n...

I have a chest/abdominal spasm that starts immediately following the following scenarios...
After an ECG is started, after an ultra sound wand is placed over my heart area
After the wand of a device check machine is placed over my heart area
When a stethascope is applied to muy chest area.
Has anyone had anything similar happen ?

I did the search on this site. Came up 2 different people from 2018. Was wondering if anyone recently has had one done. The reason for me as have arithris and torn rotator cuff. Would like to be without pain.
Did see one doctor and of course asked how many and how is it done. He said incison is more to the left of the pacemaker. And a different cautiztion is used. Plus he uses some thing called Arthrex a new device. Am not sure...

I had my Bostom Scientific Accolade implanted on November 8, 2023 and was able to come home the following day. I was diagnosed with Winchebach 2, as well as right and left branch bundle block three years ago and during my visit with the cardiologist last month, my problem had reached the point where a pacemaker would be needed. I had no stamina and had to take three to four naps a day just to perform my basic routines. I am amazed at how well my heart beats no...

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
