I did the search on this site. Came up 2 different people from 2018. Was wondering if anyone recently has had one done. The reason for me as have arithris and torn rotator cuff. Would like to be without pain.
Did see one doctor and of course asked how many and how is it done. He said incison is more to the left of the pacemaker. And a different cautiztion is used. Plus he uses some thing called Arthrex a new device. Am not sure if he is the one for me. Will call another orthro doctor on Monday, one who did the right shoulder.

thanks Gemita, am taking it really slow with that shoulder . Do not understand why now that i have a pacemaker and my heart is beating evenly and without pauses. Was starting to enjoy life without all the falling.
I have painful arthritis in my fingers, wrists, elbows, spine and do not forget the knees.
Will update when i see the next Orthro doctor.

This sounds painful. However you are not the first pacemaker person who needs this surgery. Your ortho person should be able to reassure you.
Your heart is the main thing and you have it under control. Everything else can work out. May God guide you to the right surgical team. May He also ease your arthritis pains. 💞🌺
thanks Lavender

Saw the spine doctors PA this morning for a Thoracic Spine x-ray he spotted something plus he put pressure on my spine found a sore spot, which i did not know about. . Said something about looking further with an MRI. I said what about the Lumbar part. He said i have to come back another time to get that x-rayed. Medicare only will let me get one or two parts x-rayed at one time. Will finally be able to see what all needs to be taken care of, then procede with what should be done first. Shots or surgery?

Hello Mary, so sorry to hear you are in pain with your left shoulder. I see you had your right shoulder done (?same procedure) in March 2020, so you will know what to expect, although clearly surgery will be closer to your device/leads this time, but I am sure they will take care of you.
Michael had a left rotator cuff repair in 2016 (Anthroscopy + Subacromial decompression) but that was well before his pacemaker in 2018. Was quite a major procedure I recall and took months of healing and physio - around 9 months. I remember his blood pressure was high, so surgery was delayed until we got it under control.
Hope you can go ahead in safety Mary and that your pain can be controlled in the meantime. Good luck and if you have more confidence in your previous surgeon, I would go with him again.
