Had my 3 months check up 2 weeks ago at the pacemaker clinic, cardiologist and family physician. I have a BS dual leads top chamber at 17% and bottom 0%. Doing ok , been dealing with anxiety and confidence. Doing better since then walking daily 30 minutes, getting out more to friends and family. Starting physical therapy next week for frozen shoulder and arm pain. Cannot drive yet. Went walking at a pumpkin farm 50 minutes was exhausted and not doing well with hilly walking. My Dr. Said...

I had a Medtronic model ADDRL1 pacemaker installed with St. Jude 1688TC leads in 2012.
Late in 2022 I had the pacemaker replaced because of a low battery. They replaced it with a Medtronic model W1DR01 pacemaker, however they attached it to the old St. Jude leads. They did not want to risk removing the old leads.
I was told everything was great, except I could never have a MRI because of the old leads.
Recently, I moved to another state and saw a new pacemaker...

I'm officially in ERI as of October 8. This group is wonderful with sharing information. Looks like I'll be getting my first pacemaker replacement in the near future. Any words of wisdom on what to expect?

Hi - I have AFib and a pacemaker fitted 5 weeks ago. My first pacing appointment / checkup is next week but apart from not really knowing what to expect I'm thinking about the kinds of questions I should be asking. There is the possibility of an AV node ablation. It would be really helpful to hear thoughts on useful questions. I am in the UK
Thanks

40 years old, Medtronic pacemaker for 3 years now, implanted for low heart rate (30-50 bpm), very active before PM, PM adjusted multiple times to continue active lifestyle
I think my upper and lower limits are set appropriately, as is my rate response. I don't have any trouble with exercise, walking, or running. But I get shortness of breath even walking up stairs or a small hill. My family likes to hike and I experience significant heavy breathing and I have to go sooo slow. A...
Weird Rate Drop Feeling?

So I had my device implanted in 2018, and up until about 2 months ago my only complication has been super ventricular tachycardia and periods of rate drop that I didn't feel.
About 2 months ago I started feeling weird, kind of like on a roller coaster, and I used a pulse oximeter to keep an eye on my pulse. I would find that while sitting in bed doing absolutely nothing my heart rate would drop to 50bpm and then suddenly Spike to 90 BPM and hold for about 2 minutes. This cycle would...

As soon as I was dianosed with heart failure my cardiologist nixed drinking. Recently since doing better and have my CRT-D I've tried a glass several times. Couldn't finish them and immediately felt sick.
I'm not to concerned if I don't have another drink but curious to know if anyone else has lost the taste for booze. Tried googling if it's a side effects of my medication but nothing comes up.

Hi friends. I'd like to hear from some of you that have lived with CRT pacers for significant time and have good outcomes to report. I've heard plenty about the poor symptoms people have to begin with, but where are the success stories? Did your symptoms resolve? Did you have subsequent echocardiograms that showed beautiful, wonderfully remodeled hearts? Are CRT devices ever turned off after a heart recovers, or are the imbalanced conduction issues always permanent?

First-time poster here, and thanks in advance for your guidance.
My 65-year-old healthy and active husband, who is 100% paced, has had incidents of "noise" over the past year. Five months ago the docs fiddled with his settings to try to eliminate it, but he still gets it now and then -- so he was called back in to the office again. This time, they had him move his arms around, and when he stretched his left arm across his body, they could see something on the monitor that...

Has anyone out there ever had an MRI with their CRTD or Pacemaker that is not MRI approved? I am having an MRI soon and my EP said they will take precautions to make sure sure nothing happens during the MRI. There will be the EP Doctor, Cardiologist, Radiologist and Metronic person to watch everything. This is being done at a Heart hospital and this is the only MRI machine that does this for people with and without MRI compatible pacemakers. I am having 800 PVCs...

Hello all, I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else has had a similar experience to mine. So I recently noticed a big change in my heart rate/rythm. In the past, I would feel a big rushing/pounding sensation everytime i got up too quickly, walked up a flight of stairs, or walked up a steep hill. The sensation was essentially my blood pressure and heart rate increasing significantly, and with that came an intense pressue in my neck and chest. It would eventually fade as my hr...

I posted recently in relation to this post, but it got hijacked :)
During another tough mountain bike ride, I reached over 160bpm. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last 2 weeks. My device is set with an upper limit of 150bpm. In the past when I hit that number, I'd be pushed into a 2:1 and the crappy feeling most of know all too well. Anyway, I'm chugging along at 160bpm with no symptoms and I feel great.
I DO try to avoid hitting that high of a HR. Before, on...

I am new to all this. Got pacemaker July 19. Did great until last month. Now not everynight though i feel palpations and racing heart. No one here in my area seems very knowledgeable. The nurse called today and says its doing it during nightly test and they can turn off testing. Says this happens in less than 1 percent of population. However a few of those nights I had nightmares so i am quite unsure. I havent had plapations like that since before my...

I had my PM implant 4 weeks ago. To say I'm worse since surgery would be an understatement. I was doing just fine, walking around a mile each day and feeling great. I haven't walked a mile or felt great a single day since.
First day after surgery in hospital told nurses about pain in muscles and difficulty breathing. I was told that a little pain was to be expected. Given Tylenol 3 and released from hospital. The problem was not the pain but more the failure of anyone tell...

We often talk about pvc and pac affecting what we feel as our pulse, that it can throw off the count. Here's just how MUCH it can throw it off! My dad had a reading of 36 the other day. His bp monitor and O2 monitor both said 36, he counted manually and got about the same. He has covid and his O2 sat was 82 so I flipped out and demanded he get someone to take him to the ER before I called 911. On the ekg at the hospital, his pulse was actually in the 80's.

Hello, Everyone,
I learned quite a bit today at my EP Clinic appointment that hopefully will help me feel better. I started my discussion with describing how I felt.
My rate was changed from 60-130 to 50-110 to help reduce the spike in heart rate I feel when I initiate activity. If I feel I need a change, I can make an appointment and the Biotronik rep will be there.
My atrium is pacing at 80% and my lower chamber at 9%. The tech explained that the 80% paci...

I stumbled on this on you tube, Incredible the strength of the magnet in a MRI machine.
Thats a steel key ring on the end of a piece of thread. At the end that s an aluminum plate falling over in the magnetic field.
Like he says ite like falling thru mollassas
Just incredible the strength of the magnet.

Its no wonder they are hesitant about putting a pace maker thru and want everyone to sign off.

work pressure from managers & help needed
Hello, I am under a lot of pressure from work. they read somewhere that I should have made a full recovery within 6 weeks and that a pacemaker is a small procedure.
I work nights in tunnels, hauling heavy machinery up and down stairs on one side of the body all night, occasionally coping with sleep deprivation.
My cardiologists advised me to gradually build up my body, and I am also suffering from lack of sleep owing to pacemaker sensitivity, for which I ha...

Hi guys, i had a 7 days Holter monitor and asked for results to be send in today, so that i come prepared with a list of questions. "Patient was monitored for 7 Days. Patient was in Sinus Rhythm 86.88% of the time, with presense of 1st and 2nd Degree AV Block with 2:1 and 3:1 AV conduction. Inte...
