Hi, I have a shiny new Medtronic Ensura MRI compatible pacemaker 5 weeks ago. My previous system was removed and replaced. I had my check today and I don't understand the technicians explanation of these settings. Rates- upper track 95 bpm, upper sensor 140 bpm. I also have ADL rate of 95.
I had my pacemaker for heart block, I like to walk and bike. I have to say I feel a lot better generally since I got my new pacemaker, my old one had two broken leads, but I haven't tried to do anyt...

i went today to a different pacemaker clinic for the reading. the tech showed me a log that showed # v tachs, # a fibs, and then a third kind of reading related to what i call flurries, something like 1.9K of these since my last pacemaker reading about 19 days ago. i always thought these flurry things were in my head, these events that last less than 30 sec. so, what are these things called? are they dangerous? the tech said that they are not a big deal unless i have symptoms from them and...

I am 55 years old and received my pacemaker in March 2012 due to bradycardia (sick sinus). My heart rate was 30bpm in the ER. I had been feeling very dizzy, near fainting, short of breath and in a mental fog for about a week before going to the ER. I have no other health problems and take no medications.
I had the motion sensor turned off after a few weeks since it bothered me. I was set for ventricular pacing only when needed. HR set at 50.
I felt better after the surgery...

checkup and everything looks good. The best is that the estimated battery life is 13 years. I have a Medtronics Adapta ADDR01 pacemaker and was diagnosed with Stage 2 AV block. And there is where I have question and my doctor could not explain it. I am paced less than 0.1% in the ventricular and 4.8% in the Atrial. How can then I have AV block? Do I have Sick Sinus syndrome?

Hi everyone. First post here. Just got my Medtronic PM a few days ago for resting heart rate in the thirties with a diagnosis of complete heart block. I use my treadmill a lot and was used to running at 4.5 mph or so to hold my heart rate between 100 and 120.
Doc said walking only until my one week checkup because he does not want the bandage wet with sweat.
Here is the problem. When I walk at a moderate pace on level ground for a short time, my HR is in the upper 90s and low...

Hi I need some help. I had my pacemaker implanted in april of 2011. The problem is when I exercise. When my heart rate reaches 165-170bpm it feels like someone squeezing my heart and tightness in chest. It also becomes hard to breath. As long as my heart rate does not get that high I can run a long time. My low setting is set on 60bpm. Is it possible that my pacemaker has a high setting that will not allow my heart to beat too fast.

I have had a st jude pm2110 pacemaker for a month. I want to find an information source that will teach me about its functioning. I am a former computer programmer, now retired, and worked with many devices. Is there a technical manual available?

Hello, this is my first posting and I would first like to thank everyone who responds to these questions and concerns...it's so nice to see this supportive community on-line.
I received my PM 5 months ago (for sick sinus syndrome, symptomatic bradycardia) and have been doing fairly well after an initial adjustment period. My rate is set at 60 (previous to the implant, my 'normal' heart rate was in the high 50's to 60's). I am 61 and very active, fit and otherwise healthy. Recently I have s...

What information should I request from the interrogator when he interrogates my PM. I talked about getting a "copy of the report", (whatever that is), at the last session but after much yakety yack, I wound up with nothing. Now that I think about it, I feel he does not want me to have these records.

I have posted on here several times since receiving my pacemaker back in July. Up until last week they had my rate response feature turned on but last week they turned it off because my own heart is doing fine when I expend any energy and my heartrate increases appropriately to whatever I am doing. So my question is what really is my pacemaker doing without the rate response feature being turned on? I know that I got the pacemaker because I was having these 4-5 second pauses, and one 8 second...

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and glad to find others who are living with a pacemaker. I was shocked two weeks when I had gone to the ER with a sinking feeling, to find out that my heart rate was actually dropping from the high 50's to 30's then skipping back up to the 40's before returning to high 50's and low 60's.
After three days of being monitored in hospital they said the heart rate would not only drop but then stop for three seconds before starting back up again....

First, a word of THANKS to all of you who have made this web site a success. It provides a wellspring of information for us newbies.
Two weeks ago I had a Boston Scientific Altura 60 DDDR implanted -- with a low heart rate set at 70. I've notice some immediate improvements -- increased energy, restore strength, better circulation in hands and feet. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my PM and the improvements it has made.
In two weeks I go for my first PM check by a fac...
