I won't be posting for a few months now. My primary concern isn't related to considerations related to a new PM, it's about whether or not the PM will solve my medical issues long-term. A PM may have little effect on Cardiac Sarcadosis long-term. If my outcome is positive after various tests, I will post again and try to help others when I know more. If not, best wishes to everyone.

Hi everyone! My name is Huzaif and I've had a pacemaker for almost 15 years now since I was 5, which is when I received my first one. I was implanted with a pacemaker because of a complete heart block. I am 19 now but the question of will I live long enough to see my own kids or grandkids always pops up. I always wanna have a chat with my doctor about the life span of someone with a pacemaker but I get too scared. I thought maybe this forum could be it. I have lived an extremely normal li...

I did a lot of posting yesterday regarding concerns related to my Pacemaker and LV remodeling.
I was on a family vacation just after my Pacemaker was implanted and I deliberately didn't think about the situation much until the vacation and holidays were over.
Today, I realize LV modeling isn't my first concern. I was diagnosed with RBBB in 2010 during a routine stress test and because I had a history of pulmonary Sarcadosis in my...

I have a Medtronic Azure XT imppanted since August of this year. In early November I started feeling some buzzing and vibrating sensations on my left shoulder , area near the pacemaker , arm and down to my foot. Basically almost my entire left side. Also started to feel dizzy lightheaded and off balnce at the same time. EP did not seem concerned , said checkup was fine. Told me to make an appoinmenrt with a neurologist... Has anyone had a similar problem?

The PM rep told me I was being paced 7% in the upper chamber and over 90% in the lower chamber.
I remember my EKG pattern after the PM was implanted and it was definitely a Atrial pattern. I just Googled it.
Does this mean I do not need to be as concerned about LV remodeling, or am I completely off base. I have a Dual Chamber Assurity PM 2722.
I do not know if I am Atrial paced, ventricle paced, or both. Which of those approaches offer the g...

Hi, this is my 4th post to this forum. I am very pleased that this site even exists and I have a lot of questions. I presently know enough about my PM to be dangerous, lol.
From my earlier posts you will see that I received what I think (not certain) is a Dual Chamber PM roughly 3 weeks ago. It is a Saint Jude PM.
With the holidays and all the confusion, I haven't had much time to analyze my situation. I know I feel a lot b...

I had my CRT-D implanted March 2016, while for the first 4-6 months it was more sore and painful than I bargained for, it had settled down.
Just about 10 days ago I went for an ultrasound and as part of the examination I needed to hold my arms above my head for 10 mins or so. 2-3 days after I started to feel a little tender where the leads dive down beneath my collar bone. It continues to be sore.
I guess I've just pulled the tissues where my leads are attached, but wonde...
Has a Pacemaker weakened or strengthened your heart muscle?

I have been reading various posts and I feel like I know very little about the effects of a Pacemaker on the heart muscle itself.
From my first post, members will see that the implementation of my Pacemaker evolved very quickly. I was going from 2nd to 3rd degree heart block back and forth and there was a consensus that I needed the device. I was told my heart muscle itself was very healthy.
I am feeling much better now. What I am wondering is what sho...

I had all the symptons of a stroke. Facial droop on left side, words slurred, dizzy, fell....then episode passed. Occurred again, but for shorter time Flown to Stroke center, ALL sorts of test--MRI of brain showed 4 areas impaced by clot, yet no residual effects.
THINK cause due to PFO, a small hole in heart from birth that did not close...a small pocket where blood can "gather" then "escape".....
Also have some irregular heart beats--have had pacemaker since J...

Bought an Apple Watch and after wearing it two days it beep me that my Heartbeat was 200.
Call 911 or go to ER, I went to ER and my Beat would go up to 200 or more and then drop to 40 and I would pass out. Doctor did Ablation and had complations. Recently had Pacemaker put in and should have had that a long time ago.
Feeling better and very seldom have AFIB.

I was recently admitted in the Emergency of NCH here in Naples, FL. for high fibrillation (my Edora does not care about that !). They are know to have a very good cardiology service but at my great surprise, they dont have the necessary material to read my Edora. So the doctor let me go... Is this happening in other places ? Thank you. Ray.

It's 5 months since I had a PM fitted to deal with a complete heart block. I've had my first check up with the technical people, but not the medics yet.
I've been told by the tech guys that a blood pressure monitor (Omron as used by my GP) gives false readings of the pulse rate and should never be used for this purpose. Is this the case?

I had a Medtronic Azure implanted 1 year ago with just the lead to the lower chamber. I am still struggling to get back into running etc. and the doctors believe it is because of the asynchrony between upper and lower chambers of my heart because of just one lead. I have normal sinus rhythm and a complete AV block.
It looks like the Medtronic study of patients with leadless Micra that received an accelerometer-based atrial sensing algorithms was a big success and my doctors are re...

This is my first post so I will paste my bio here.
66 year old active woman, but not an 'athlete' per se. I have always had a very low 'normal for me' resting heart rate ~37. It is rare but normal. In recent years congenital issues with my aorta and functionally bicuspid valve (pure aortic regurgitation in mild to moderate range) have stressed my heart. Was put on a low dose beta blocker in hopes of helping my medial tissue of the aorta (not for BP). Developed aFib. I fe...

I am 2.5 weeks post pacemaker implementation now back to work taking things slowly. I am waking up during the night a few times and "think" I do feel my heart going slightly faster. I am also going through menopause. So wondered if anyone feels the pm kicking in overnight ? Thanks to everyone on this site. Since joining this has provided me with lots of info and a great deal of reassurance.
Could it be ???

I have been on here plenty complaining that my heart rate doesn’t get high enough to deliver and meet my body’s demand in the gym.
Sunday will be two months since implant.
Rate was maxing out around 130. I was interrogated - to check in my arterial status I had an echocardiogram and nuke stress test - even had my corartid scanned . All were great .
My PM is set 60-170.
tonight I tracked my rate for 3 hours while I played racquetball. ...

Had my PM since 2013. Am having vicious dizzy spells. Rare, but terrifying. Feels like the first time I had bradycardia which brought about the implanting of the PM.
. PM is set at 60. Does anyone think having it set higher would be helpful? I have to travel 200 miles each way (snow and wind in the winter) to see my EP, so don't wish to make the trip if not necessary. I had an interrogation 2 months ago and have regular (quarter...

Hi everyone,
Could someone answer a question for me please! Having a tough time adjusting to the pacemaker!
Had settings changed from 60 to 70 due to very low bp! At 70 bp raised and felt very wired and couldn't excercise with lightheaded feeling! Felt the pacing in throat and had nausea with it, set at 65 now blood pressure stabilised somewhat still getting spikes!
Could someone explain the pacing in throat with nausea, is there a setting I could request turned on...

When I go to the EP for a PM check they do the interrogation and then while my heart is pounding away the nurse checks my BP which is always high while good otherwise. Could the wand cause raised BP?
You know you're wired when...
You have a new body part.
