Theme parks and rollercoasters

Hi all, I had an ICD upgrade earlier this year (January I think) and also have an inset wire left form my last device (NOT MRI safe) in a ventricle, I was wondering if anyone knew the limitations on theme parks.

I would not go on purely magnet propelled rollercoasters but would be interested to know the full limitations.

Thank you!

P.S. sorry I am new here not sure if my formatting is a good standard xx

Lead Revision

My first PM implant on 5/13 had to be revised on 5/20 because of right atrial lead displacement that started becoming evident three days after surgery. For the second go-round, the surgeon said he was able to relocate the lead a bit higher in the atrium, avoiding suspected scar tissue from my CABG of 2007.

So far, so good. Back to work now, scrupulously wearing a sling during waking hours and an elaborate velcro belt rig at night (look like a sumo wrestler with it).

When can I fee...

Staying dry

I am just two weeks into having a pm and I am going on vacation in one week. I am trying to find a way to shower and go into the pool without wrapping myself in plastic wrap. So here is my idea: What if I put a small patch of plastic wrap over the stristrips and then cover the whole thing with a product called second skin. I am thinking the plastic wrap would keep the second skin from sticking to the strips and pulling them off when I remove it. I could really use some feed back on this idea...

Icd with SS and LTD

New here and thanks. Drove a truck for the past 20+years. Had my CDL since i was 19yo, i will be 43 tomorrow. Back in July 2017 had an episode where i didn’t feel good at all. Called my boss and locked the truck up. AMR took me to the hospital and i haven’t worked since. EF at the time was 20%. Cardiomyopathy, severe heart arrhythmia, and diagnosed with CHF. My EF is now 55% with meds and the icd. Arrhythmia is still there but not near as bad as it used to be. My CDL is dust...

Travel insurance

I wondered if any fellow pacemaker recipients could recommend any travel cover companies?  I know there are some pre existing condition policies out there....would be good to find a fair deal for a declared condition.

PM Activity - More While Sick?

Has anyone noticed their pacemaker going off significantly more while sick?  I’ve had rather upset stomach this weekend, fatigue,  dizziness, etc. (maybe the flu?) and have noticed my pacemaker kicking on quite a bit more than usual.  Is that normal?

I know most people can’t feel theirs “turning on” but I can most definitely feel mine and it’s adding to an already queasy feeling.

Pacemaker

Hi all, I was told a year ago when I received my ICD that I could no longer no any type of electric welding. This information devastated me as I am a builder of custom chassis and suspension for custom cars and truck's. I just had my yearly ICD check up and during my whinnying I got a curious look from the gal doing the check up. She went the extra mile for me and got me some information that was huge for me. I have a Biotronik,  pacemaker. They have information that was put out in D...

New PM Triggered When Sedentary and/or Bending Forward

Greetings, All

Six day-old Medtronic W3DR01 for bradycardia and pausing. All so far well except for scariness of its triggering while sedate (right now, in fact) and while simply bending down.

From my first scan of comments here it appears body posture and movement can influence pacing even with leads properly positioned and stable. Unfortunately it won't be for another eleven days yet that I go to my pacemaker clinic for some enlightenment and an interrogation of the unit. I...

If anyone has knowledge nad can help i would be greatly appreciative. I am not going to share details of his passing on a general post but would like message with anyone that...

Driving a 4x4 pickup with a BC/ICD

Has anyone had an issue with driving a vehicle that bounces around a lot? I do notice the bouncing does up my heart rate a bit. My real concern is lead dislodgement. Can hitting bumps on the road and driving a vehicle with larger tires thats more prone to bouncing cause problems? So far the in home monitor is showing OK. I am four weeks post procedure and am diving on a regular basis to and from work. Thanks.

anxious

Hi, in the process of trying to figure the cause of chest pains ive been having it was found that my heart is in good shape but seems I have bradycardia...cardiologist hopes to avoid pacemaker. Just learnt this and had my 24 hour monitor just done. I've been researching madly but have many questions . My cardiologist says it doesn't explain my chest pains...yet I see on google that chest pains are a symptom of bradycardia? Did anyone else have chest pains due to bradycardia? Thanks

Can You Feel The Leads in Your Veins and Heart?

Just wanted to know if anyone out there who has a BV ICD with CRT can feel the leads in the chest? Being that ICD leads are bigger, and that 3 leads are required for CRT, I have a sensation in my mid left chest that I am wondering if it could be the leads running through the vein to the heart? I haven't seen my chest xray, but think that I might be feeling the leads pressing on the wall of the vein. Its mildly irritating, but probably nothing I can do other than get use to it. Thanks.

New to this... All advice welcomed.

Hello everyone. My name is Bonzwa and I recently had my heart zapper implanted. When the ambulance finally got me to the er, my pulse was 208bpm and I was in full v tac. As a child I had Rheumatic Feverand then contracted it again in my late teens. I've had a heart murmur for as long as I've been alive but other than that, my overall health is good. Low cholesterol, no diabetes, nothing worth mentioning except mild hypertension. What worries me the most is that the cardiologist told m...

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
