Pacemaker Removal

Hi Everyone

I am 15 years old and have had a pacemaker ever since I was a few months old. After a few years my first pacemaker stopped working. It was placed below my ribs. That pacemaker was removed and a new one was put in on the left side of my chest. I have hypervagatonia which caused my heart to slow down when I was young for the smallest things such as accidentally hitting myself with a toy I would pass out. As I have grown up my symptoms have gone away. There has always been a co...

2 weeks out

I finished week 2 - went back to work for 4 days.  Was a bit sore off and on but so glad to be out of the house.  Today I went outside for a walk.  I pushed myself at work to walk 5000 steps a day and then going outside today was such a treat!  The last time I walked outside I ended up in the ER and got the PM!  So I was a bit trepidatious about it, but was very proud when I did.

Wound looking pretty good.  I have noticed that when I start my walks, w...

UK Drivers

I'm a little unsure on how to make the DVLA aware of my ICD. There are so many different forms, online links, phone numbers and suggestions that I don't know where to begin!

I have just had an ICD fitted and was told by the doctors that I would be banned from driving for 1 month, not 6 months. This is because I have not blacked out nor had any cardiac episodes before the ICD was installed - they said my surgery was preventative, not necessary which makes the difference.

Afib, Our device and Our term insurance policy

Morning fellow device owners

I will try to be brief. I’m a licensed insurance advisor and have practiced for 18 yrs.  I knew my Afib was going to effect my future underwriting for another life policy but my cardiac arrest and subsequent ICD surgery now makes me uninsurable with traditional life insurance.

With that said, I can “ convert” my current Term policy and leverage the chronic illness rider within the policy benefits for possible long ter...

pre-syncope feeling maybe?

So I have had a pacemaker implant for chb since april 2018 after having my mitral valve repair surgery and today I kind of felt a little something by my heart area did not last long at all maybe like two-three seconds. Then I felt like something was giong to happen but it didn't kind of like lightheadedness not sure exactly. As if the pacemaker did not allow it to happen. I did about a mile and a half on the treadmill yesterday at around 3.5 speed. I checked my smart watch just...

My heart picked a place to show itself of all places at the Masters Golf tournament on April 6th, 2018 at holes 10, 11 and 12 what is called AMEN’S CORNER. I went down with cardiac arrest, GOD had chosen the best landscaped part of the world to end my life but also had the most qualified personnel in place to bring me back to life. God had placed a Gastroenterologist no more than 2 to 3 feet away from me when I went into cardiac arrest. The doctor immediately performed compressions on m...
