When I was brought to ER in 2015 I was diagnosed for getting a PM. Initial surgery went bad because my subclavian was crushed on both sides at one time in my younger life. They rescheduled and had a doc open it up to feed the wire. About 3 years later my wire was kinked and only one lead worked. They gave me a second surgery to put two additional wires on the outside of my heart. Problems again and only one lead works now. I have a different cardiologist now and he said based on my 1 pe...

Hi folks, I have suspected ARVC gene elusive. A mild cardiomyopathy (enlarged left ventrical /45 EF) with PVCs and have a S-ICD for primary prevention. I am on bisoprolol, candesarten and apixibam. I'm 42, relatively fit www.DamoBird365.com/myheart.
I was put on Amioderone for ectopics on Nov 22 in prep for ICD extraction due to SVC obstruction, operation was Jan 23 and I developed AV block and collapsed in Feb 23. I had a micra pacemaker installed and stopped amioderone.

My son was diagnosed with complete heart block at age 9. He got his pacemaker at this age. He has been ok until he had to have his leads taken out and replaced almost 10 years later. At 19. That was a rough procedure due to the tissue stuck in the wires. His surgery was done at Bostons children's hospital. We took him there because we heard it was one of the best. It's been almost a year 1/2 since the lead extraction and now his Ejection fraction falls between 40 and 45. I suppose thi...

I had a pacemaker fitted about 6 weeks ago and had my first check last Thursday. The technician apparently made some changes ( that became clear after) but said nothing to me. In and out in about 5 to 10 minutes. On the walk back to my car I felt lightheaded and a bit breathless. That evening it was worse. Fortunately I have a cardiograph app and it showed my heart rate going quite high. I got back on to them the following day and after checking the data they called me back...

Hello
Recently I had an emergency aortic aneurysm repair and aortic valve replacemetn surgery. I went in to complete heart block post surgery so they decided to implant a pacemaker. During the implant, looks like atrium signal came back and so my ventricles were set to pace according to atrium. All this was done in july (July 17th). Its been little over a month and I was feeling fine. I went to visit an Arrythmia clinic last week to see if I can use them (they are lot closer than the te...

Hi everyone. Haven't posted for many years. So I got my new box change in May without any issues. I then went to get it checked 6 weeks later and they turned on auto threshold test. Since this moment I have been having episodes of continuous PVCs and during the time of them it feels just like I'm hooked up to the PM machines when being tested. I'm very sensitive to everything when I'm having my PM tested I hate it so much makes me feel sick and breathless and dizzy. This is ho...

Back in January 2022 I posted about my daughter having palpitations after a covid mrna booster and I don't believe I shared what her prognosis was. After an Echo doctor found she had pericarditis. Took almost a year to resolve and I hope and pray there are no long lasting affects. Cardiologist said he no longer needed to see her unless she had any other complaints. And added that she should not get any more mrna vaccines. We asked if he will report the the findings to the CDC and he respo...

HI Everyone
I had my BiV pacemaker put in June 1 this year so 2 1/2 months post op. The last couple of weeks I had a recurrence of shortness of breath when bending over and also I could not seem to stop myself from lifting which also caused some problems with shortness of breath and pain under the ribs. Then I stopped lifting etc but found that I continued to have this pain in my diaphragm and I could not catch my breath at times. I know when my anxiety kicks in and th...

First of all, I'm grateful to have found this club; I was excited to see so many helpful topics and friendly people ready to answer questions. On July 17, 2023 I got my first Biventricular ICD. After a long 10 years with diagnosed CHF, and an ejection fraction of 30-35 at the age of 48, my general doctor wanted me to go to a cardiologist for treatment but I couldn't afford insurance on my meager salary despite working full time. Last fall, I could no longer work due to HF sympto...

Hi! I'm Julien and I got a TAVR on 7/19/23 then a pacemaker on 7/20/23.
I have questions about a few activities. First, I like to build 50s style guitar amplifiers from parts. Some have hefty power transformers and all have output transformers, I'm not sure if it's safe to do. Of course I know to not put both hands on it but I still could get a minor shock but nothing that would run through me to ground. My real question is about any electrical field from a transformer, of c...

I had my PM implanted about a year ago for symptomatic 2:1 AV block and though I feel somewhat better am still suffering from severe othostatic hypotension. My BP is dropping up to 40 mm upon standing. While trying to get to the bottom of this Ive noticed my EKG numbers dramatically worsened after the pacemaker.
QRS 86 to 152
QTC 428 to 502
PR 178 to 248
HR 70 bpm, leads -Apex placed, Dual paced 73 yo male. 97% paced

Hello!
I'm 34 and recently recieved the diagnosis of left ventricular non compaction, after having syncope for years, and recent tilt test that found I went into asystole for 18 seconds. Long story short I just recieved and ICD implant last week and am very new to this community! I just bought an apple watch to track my HR and my heart was feeling uncomfortable this evening and my watch said I was experiencing afib, which is a first that I've had any documentation (if apple watc...

Hi
I had a pacemaker implanted in September 2022. For the first month I felt nothing unusual but since that time I have had intermittent but very pronounced pulsing, showing up in my abdomen, directly under my ribcage on the left side, so pronounced that I could take my pulse just by watching the movement of of my shirt over the abdomen. This pulsing often wakes me during the night and is so pronounced that my wife can feel it from her side of a wide bed. The cardiology department...

I had a double pace-maker put in 18 months ago - took 18 months and finally a loop recorder inserted that told them my heart was stopping for 14 seconds whilst I was asleep. Right from the start I have had a pain middle of my chest - now and then to start with - I have been back 4 times to pacemaker place and each time they say the p.maker is fine working perfectly. Paid to go back to heart consultant twice as it is quite painful now - does not happen when I am doing things - main...

Hello
I have had a biotrnik Edora for third degree complete av block for a bout a month. I though i was going to be able to do some liftening especially with my right arm/hand. I am finding it increasingly difficult to bend over and pick things up, like the occasional weed in the yard. I also find carrying things with my right arm/hand causes pain in the heart and down the center of the chest where I assume (though I may be wrong) the wires are. My device ge...

Hello everyone,
i would like to tell you my experience as I have taken great encouragement from reading here the accounts of others.
I had a subpectoral implant nearly three month's ago for Sick Sinus Syndrome. The actual procedure took an hour and a half under local and was not pleasant.
Like others, I found the post-op pain much worse than I had been prepared for. I perhaps should have suspected this because thankfully I was given a good...

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
